...so if someone were to repeatedly hit you on the arse extremely hard, you - an adult - wouldn't report them to the police for Assault?
Think extremely carefully before answering, OP.
Oh, that link (which leads to “page not found” btw) is from the “American College of Pediatricians.” Basically a bunch of people who broke off from the American Academy of Pediatricians because they weren’t homophobic enough for them anymore. So…I’m not really gonna place a lot of stock in what they say.
For anyone not aware, the American College of Pediatricians is not a legitimate medical association by any reasonable standard. It's an anti-LGBT political advocacy organization, considered a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They've been criticized by scientists who have (rightfully) accused them of misusing their work, and even by Dr. Francis Collins who, although he is best known for his opposition to intelligent design, is a fairly conservative Christian described by Christopher Hitchens as the most devout man he'd ever met and appointed by Pope Francis to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
When they say things like this, it needs to be treated the same way as messaging from Focus on the Family. Even if you, yourself, are an Evangelical Christian, you should regard their material as suspect. Look for supporting evidence from other people or groups and, if you can't find it (or instead find evidence that what they're saying is untrue), then you need to disregard what they're saying. These are ideologues first and foremost.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
