Yes. Not our problem. Germany wanted an alliance with Britain; an invasion was not going to happen if we had appropriate peace talks. Germany sent many peace proposals when it looked dire for Britain, yet Churchill wanted to send more and more to the meat grinder.

Hitler wanted an “alliance” with Britain the way he forged an “alliance” with Stalinist Russia. And the way Trump wants an “alliance” with Greenland, Canada, and every dumbass who actually fell for the billion dollar utterly powerless “Board of Peace” scam where in the plain text of the buy in ONLY TRUMP until death has decision making power that was little more than pretending you could rent his ear when he’s very clear that only he matters in any and all decisions. If we all continue to sit on our hands and repeat the same mistakes everybody ends up like his “partnership” with Venezuela where he just put the dictator’s number 2 in charge. It’s something to plunder and denigrate to try and stave off awareness of each leaders failures until they see the opportunity to slide in the knife and take a little more hoping the next sucker is just as dumb and hopes THIS TIME their promise of staying in their lane if everyone else sits by and lets them take “one more thing” is genuine.
Fascism absolutely RELIES on being able to point to someone else at ALL TIMES to be able to say “Hey, they have something that you deserved more don’t you think? Time to smack it out of their hands and do something *better* with it.” It all goes right down the toilet the moment anyone stops and thinks “Hey wait a minute, what is any of this actually doing for me except getting me used to smiling while my neighbours disappear one by one while the leader demands greater sacrifices of what few remain to safeguard against our now seemingly infinite enemies he was supposed to make go away already?” You wouldn’t believe a homeless man on the street even once when he begs for your money, yet you believe these assholes every time for a hundred fucking years of watching them fuck it all up every time they get their spot at the top because they’ll let you kill the homeless man to feel superior and distract you from how close you’re becoming to being homeless thanks to them making you fair game for somebody else that thinks what little you have left they’ll do better with once society is cleansed of your undeserving filth.
