“Why the costumes – the delusion behind the costume is to pose as something you are not”
You know, i dressed up as Spider-Man for seven years in a row, and never once was delusional enough to think i WAS Spider-Man. I never even thought someone might confuse me for the ‘real’ Spider-Man. I was pretty solid on the fact that i was a kid in a costume on Halloween, as was everyone who saw me.
My first duty station, i had a Druid persona in the SCA… And never once lost a grip on the fact that it was roleplay, that the Baron wasn’t actually Nobility, and the Kingdom wasn’t a legal state.
No delusions at all.

Yeah, questioning someone’s credentials is almost exactly NOT stealing their identity.

Except, Satan IS an Angel of Light, is he not? He’s not really stealing anyone’s identity except his own…

I think it’s far more likely that NO ONE worships Satan by handing out candy and toothpaste. Poor Satan’s probably thinking that the holiday is too commercialized these days. “Everyone’s in it for the Candy, no one’s thinking of ME, Bless it!” Really, a guy in a devil costume is THE Halloween cliche.
