Over the weekend, Elon Musk appeared in a Twitter post to endorse the idea of taking the right to vote away from people without children
The billionaire Tesla co-founder replied “Yup,” to a series of posts from Twitter user @fentasyl , which argued “democracy is probably unworkable long term without limiting suffrage to parents”
The exchange came as Mr Musk continued his recent run of interacting with right-wing figures on the social network
The posts from fentasyl themselves were a response to a previous post from Mr Musk
On Saturday, in the comments under an Islamophobic nonprofit’s video, where commenters insinuated that single white women were turning France into a majority-Muslim country, Mr Musk claimed , “The childless have little stake in the future”[…]
These opinions are hardly surprising for Mr Musk, who has long expressed concerns about declining birth rates in the US and the lack of “smart” people having enough children, views which critics have argued are verging on eugenicist

Yes, and as for myself, although I will never raise a child, I certainly care about the world my nieces and my cousins' children will grow up in. And you know what, I am also capable of caring about the children of complete strangers. Meanwhile, as Musk has clearly demonstrated a complete disregard for the happiness of his own children, perhaps he ought to be stripped of his right to vote.
I’ve a very good counter-exemple of an organisation whose leadership is mainly drawn from childless persons: the Catholic and Orthodox churches, along with some Buddhist groups. These groups exist since at least 1500 years, often overlasting family-based groups.
Parents such as Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have no business voting for dog catcher, much less Senator or President. But that is their constitutional right.
2 years ago, I had no idea Muskrat was such a Nazi idiot. My consolation is that he is (a) losing a lot of money, and (b) losing a lot of face.
A few months ago, I voted in the local elections which gave Rishi Rich & co. the electoral kick in the bollocks they deserved. Think: the Midterms last year. Several Conservative MPs resigning since then, thus forcing by-elections: you know those previously Conservative seats - some previously extremely safe ones - will go either to Labour or the Liberal Democrats. Don’t fancy Bozo’s marginal seat chances: even if he went independent, least of all anywhere else. It’s all but over for Conservatives here, and while it’s at least a year before the next general election the electorate won’t forget, with this Cost of Living Crisis: mainly caused by the previous PM Liz Surgical Truss. They certainly won’t forgive Bozo the Clown’s hyper-hypocrisy.
I’ve always voted Labour. I’ve always voted to not marry.
The officers outside not only the HQ of that which makes the laws - Downing Street - but where the resident of such goes every Wednesday before midday to be questioned by said lawmakers in the Palace of Westminster. Like those outside No. 10, those at the gates of the Mother of all Parliaments & the basis of modern Democracy with not only ‘CIIIR’ on their helmets/caps but the H&K MP7s they carry. Oh, and the officers of His Majesty’s Transport Police at all our airports. They wield the same. PROTIP: Metal Detectors.
I’ll vote at said general election next year: nothing will stop me from doing so then as nothing has in all the times I have since I turned 18. Are you an armed Secret Serviceman protecting President Biden in Britain as I’m typing this? No? Your opinion to the contrary, Musky-boy? Bring it.
Slightly off-topic, but crap like this makes me hope that Meta’s alternative to Twitter, “Threads”, will be a HUGE success. Even if only for the fact that we can rub it in Musky-boy’s smug face that he’s an asshole and nobody who doesn’t care for his money likes him.

I fully agree. I’m also childless (and plan to stay that way), but that doesn’t stop me from strongly disagreeing with any asshole who does NOT care for the well-being of future generations.
Also, both me and my parents strongly believe that if you won’t bother to try and give your descendants a chance at a nice life, you shouldn’t have children at all.

OK, even if you totally agree with that sentiment, that “The childless have little stake in the future”, isn’t that unfair to people who would like to have children but for whatever reason just can’t??
And anyway, tho, fuck….OK I might not have any children, and have no plans to have any in the near future (though that could always change!) but I still have people I care about like friends and family who do, so you’re gonna try to tell me I don’t care about THEIR future????
suffrage
I keep seing that as suffering .
the idea of taking the right to vote away from people without children
Only people with children get to vote?
Would that be just biological children or would adopted ones also count?
What about anyone caring for younger siblings or nieces/nephews?
How about we reverse this idiotic assumption, just for fun?
Its the breeders who should be stripped of the right to vote if anybody, since clearly their stakes are more into their personal bloodline and kin, rather to the whole human species.
Either is pure idiocy but at least I’m not proposing this shit on fucking twitter.
Confused?
