Ideal for patriarchy and sex wars: "feminists" promoting the hatred of men while at the same time fighting against the progress of actual feminism. Afterall, if you're so affraid of men, you're locked back in the kitchen and are under patriarchy control. Frivolous rape libel.

Navaros #fundie

The following is a parody that includes both facts and far fetched suggestions, attempting to sound like the voice of propaganda TV series trying to convince their audience with outlandish stories of ancient aliens with pseudoarchaeological arguments.

Is Yahweh anthropomorphic? Is the explanation that humans created Yahweh like for the other deities? If so, does Yahweh have a mouth? The Bible claims so and that he even spits people out of it! Consequently, if he has a mouth, it also means that he eats, suggesting that he also has a digestive system. If so, it has interesting implications. Does God defecate? All of the evidence point out that if he existed, he would!

Does YHWH also have a penis? Scriptures often refer to him with masculine pronouns, it was, afterall, a patriarchal society with its patriarchal versions of the origin myths of the Levant. A few verses mention that he would have a wife. Archaeology suggests that he actually did before an attempt to impose monotheism by a power elite, he was a storm war god with a consort, Asherah. Polytheism with consorts suggests fertility cult.

If so, this suggests the equivalent of a lingam, yes, a penis! And we know that the most ancient human cults were centered around fertility and the denial of death, the magicalization of nature that they did not understand, animism, etc.

But if God has a penis, it also means that he urinates and ejaculates, that his consorts also have vaginas, like yonis, receptacles that if inseminated, should result in reproduction!

Why? Because ancient humans created and adapted him, from and to their culture. The very reason it's anthropomorphic, with all the weaknesses of stupid mortal humans. If so, it explains why he's a jealous asshole who enjoys playing chess in the sky with humans, the image of an abusive king claiming to be of divine origin to justify it. He's even affraid of tall buildings (Babel)!

This is so obvious that a verse also had to be added, a justification, denying the fact and falsely pretending that humans were created in God's image. Therefore aliens!

Assuming that there's truth to the story, if a 20yo woman was forced into having a virginity check because someone else in the family obliged her to, just that is very problematic. If she requested it (or if she is the one making the rape accusation), it's not clear.

Another issue is that assessing virginity by a medical verification is flawed, based on false assumptions. A hymen may be absent or broken for a number of reasons, especially in an adult. That's also why in some cultures women need to fake virginity by staining cloth or bed with red, even if they're actually virgins. And why some even have recourse to surgery to install a hymen, virgin or not. A medical test for rape is only useful to show evidence of recent trauma. It is not clear here if any such evidence of this was found, or if they were looking for a hymen, but it suggests the latter. The absence of a hymen does not mean not being a virgin either. Absence of virginity does not mean rape. The supposed bleeding may just be menstruation, or due to a medical condition.

Then if it was an actual rape case, the phone conversations could only serve as additional evidence, one of the contacts, a potential suspect, who may have been recently in physical contact with her. Which obviously cannot happen over the phone, a superstitious outlandish conclusion.

Assuming that what really happened was masturbation, or an affair, with such a whole story made up around it, it suggests how taboos are harmful to society... So are those patriarchal virginity myths. It may also suggest that she's imprisoned at home, producing the expectation that physical sex with someone would never be possible. It may even be to hide incestuous rape...

False premise, they don't have a form of religion, they're atheists. Or they're in the same one they were but don't believe in all of it. Projection, because you're the one exposing yourself as trying to force your ideology on others, the reason you are demonizing atheists with libel, putting up a straw man of them as if they were the Inquisition. The latter was religious and Christian, remember. This also suggests that you intend to corrupt education in favor of indoctrination, because you claim that untainted education is imposed by nefarious cabals. The separation of church and state is a constitutional requirement and means that you're free to teach your children at home and at church, but that imposing doctrine is not the role of public education. That's not an atheist cabal at work. It even protects other Christians against persecution by a particular Christian cult, like yours. It suggests that your particular cult is manipulative and exploitative, that it needs to deny knowledge to its victims to control them.

Great comments, by Pule Thamex, dionysus, Brain_In_A_Jar, Swede, Doctor Whom, JohnTheAtheist, Wookieduck, emau99, GigaGuess, Mat, Anon-e-moose, et al.

DOS claimed to be representing moderate Christians, asserting that atheists deserved to be hated. I question that, considering their arguments and the attempt to justify the original poster's crime enticement by putting up the "atheists" straw man in the same boat as the OP. Then pushing paranoid slippery slope conspiracy theories about them (i.e. Communism). And entertaining the same false premise as the OP, that the separation of church and state is some kind of atheist conspiracy. The whole thing did not have to mention atheists at all, a minority. It only did to demonize secular society and present straw men to scapegoat.

Pat Robertson #fundie

The moment when you realize that Robertson is a hypocrite, promoting double standards for women subjugation, and imposing stereotypes on both partners. So now inverse the roles and repeat the same arguments. Then instead of saying "it's life", admit that it could also be improved, people are not obliged to endure a disrespectful partner forever. The assumption that she should be stuck at home also says a lot. It's true that it's more difficult for her if she has no freedom, was already tricked into not being able to be independent, subjugated; that's not rightful, it's harmful.

Also, the OP likely ignores that fluor is often naturally high in well water (sometimes too much so). Another source of fluoride is tea. Apparently, toxic fluoride levels may have an effect on neurology, but no relation to the pineal. Then as others noted, there's nothing "divine" with that gland. Some books that have promoted this idea in popular culture were actually hoaxes, like the book by "Lobsang Rampa" (actually Cyril Henry Hoskin), "The Third Eye"...

Elon Musk #dunning-kruger #elitist #forced-birth #fundie

Elon Musk trying to compete with Bennett Lee Ross? :)

And of course, secular religion is as clueless as religious atheism: an incredible mind distortion, to deny that secular simply means uncorrupt by religion while allowing everyone to practice theirs, and atheism the lack of belief in deities, due to the lack of evidence for their claimed existence and an understanding that humans create them.

The argument about modernity leaving life empty of meaning or leaving a void is also common, some really believe that. For some people, it's also just freedom that they can express in better ways. In any case, forcing religion down people's throats will not improve anything and would violate freedoms (those of the religious who are of another sect, as well as those of the non-religious). If you find emptiness in normal life and find religion appealing, everyone is free to live spiritually and religiously in the US.

It seems that in Musk's case, he would like to impose his will on that of others, at least one family member who can no longer stand him. Or to suppress other transgender people, as it has become a type of obsession.

Then other things may point at the man's avarice, like disregarding partners/workers their worth to allocate the most money to himself, resulting in outrage and lawsuits. Not a good example of someone who cares about society and the world, making ironic any claim that he does...

White supremacist and Odinist Nazi. Out of place artifact spamming a gaming forum. Race war accelerationism.

Denial of the fact that science is a neutral universal enterprise. It's this kind of bigoted racist supremacist ideology, including pseudoscientific racism, that perpetuates barriers to the emancipation of all people and promotes systemic racism.

Also, just like Hitler and fascists do, this falsely claims to be under attack, to promote attacking the "other" scapegoat, fabricated with straw men. Delusory persecution complex.

I'm white and see and denounce your bullshit as such, asshole.

Fundamentalists #fundie

Confusion of science and atheism. Confusion of the big bang, baryogenesis and star nucleosynthesis with evolution. Confusion of spontaneous life generation with abiogenesis. Confusion of abiogenesis with evolution, descent with modification and natural selection. False claim that Christians cannot accept the discoveries of science: most Catholics do. There also are theistic evolutionists. Finally, there can be no denial of that for which there is no evidence. Since there is overwhelming evidence supporting the fact that we have evolved, we can rightfully call its denial: denial. False equivalence. Straw men all the way down. Alienation.

its_me_ #fundie

You can watch your movies and nobody will notice. If you promote nonsense, falsehoods, bigotry or hate speech publicly, some people may fact-check your statements. Just like here. Or just like critics evaluate propaganda films. Obvious. Speech does not come without consequences, especially when it seeks consequences. Delusory persecution complex. It's also important to distinguish education and indoctrination. Corrupting science education to promote science denial is deceptive, it's for indoctrination in creationism. Major creationist doctrines can be taught along with the origin myths of major religions in a relevant moral and religion class, without promoting the pseudoscientific nonsense. That's not a problem. And why did this belong on Gamespot?

battlefront23 #fundie

Your boolean identity statement is fallacious:

There are Christian theists and Christian atheists
There are non-Christian theists and non-Christian atheists
Fill the blanks, also add agnostic, etc.

Then consider the fact that you don't need to be atheist to accept reality, science, evolution, etc.

But your head may have exploded by now...

camel2on64 #fundie

The fact that we evolved has not violated any physics and if it did we would not have evolved and would not have discovered that we did: we didn't invent that. But you also forgot that your idealistic doctrine would also need to apply to deities. There's an answer, however: humans imagined those. Thus, reality denial in favor of an imaginary world.

huladog123 #fundie

You have a major problem. Your scriptures have been written by men who were ignorant about the natural world, who entertained being the center of the universe and craved for the attention of an alleged all-powerful deity that is also a human invention. This means that the scriptures are a bad source to infer anything about the natural world and the discovery of knowledge, science. False premises, leading to false conclusions. It also leads to very conflicting arguments. You pretend that an incredibly large universe was only created for us, but that we're its sole purpose. You claim that we're supposed to explore it, but! If we explore it too much and discover things that contradicts old mythology, it's too much. Like the humbling fact that we have evolved, that we're not the center of the universe, that our solar system is one among many, even true for our galaxy.

That's also why those ancient humans didn't write about other planets they had no idea existed. And why they ignored that we had evolved.

About alleged other beings, it's logical that since life developped here, abiogenesis, it may also have happened elsewhere in the huge old universe. Still, it's considered unlikely that we would ever discover and meet other intelligent E.T. life, because of the rarity and incredible distances involved.

Jesus-Halo-God #fundie

Considering how clueless you are about atheists and atheism, how would you recognize them anyway? Why should an irrational hateful statement like yours be taken seriously? From where would you "ban atheists"? Where do you have the authority to try that? What about the theists that you're misconstruing as atheists? It would be more reasonable for the rest of society, theist and non-theist, to make sure that someone like you is never put in a position where they can abuse anyone.

battlefront23 #fundie

How would you know that your god is true, it was invented by humans. Unlike evolution, a discovery of nature, a fact of biology. Science doesn't work with saints. Darwin was clueful, but we know much more than he did today. Many Christians accept science and reality and understand what origin myths are. Your problem may be a false doctrine that really conflicts with reality, like Young Earth Creationism? And jumping to the false suggestion that not denying reality means atheism. This means that atheism here is a straw man. This deception is not too surprising, considering that isolating to exploit is one of the principles of cults.

Also, I suspect this was trolling. It's also not normal when unrelated forums are suddenly targetted for radicalization, infiltrated and harassed by anonymous "preachers".

cukoo #fundie

History shows that when the separation of religion and state is violated, it's when religious oppression and the criminalization of human rights usually occurs, the theocrat enforcing their own cult and doctrine against all others, including those of the same religion that are not in their particular denomination. Or those deemed to be "sinning". This fact contradicts your false claim. Also, in most democracies with a constitution, presidents are not dictators, unless they erode the necessary separation of powers. Those who tend to do it are the same who usually hope to install a totalitarian theocracy. Those who understand this and have no intention to abuse, believers and atheists, should not be a major problem and should respect the institutions and the limits of presidential powers. Finally, critical thinking tends to be associated with less irrationality. It may also possibly lead to atheism, because of the fact that belief without evidence is fallacious. Rational thinking usually helps to lead to sound decisions. The "emotional" straw man here was rather ironic.

Well, there also exists a neurological disorder where one's hand feels like a stranger's. Also, by the same "logic", when you wear clothing, it's textile fetishism? Lastly, many people are creative and masturbate in various ways, not only with hands. It can be against objects, it can also be with someone of the opposite sex. It's normal and healthy.

"Rescuer" (Jay Bartlett) #fundie

Some people really vandalize and burn other people's property, gifts or random necessities because of such irrational superstitions or psychosis-induced fears. "I had a nightmare, it must be due to x" hasty false attribution and confirmation bias fallacies. "This gives me a bad feeling, it's creepy, there must be an attached spirit", etc. And in this case it suggests that simple technology is perceived to be magic.

The Jehovah's Witnesses believe that demons can be associated to objects if someone "practiced spiritism" around an object, or anything that belonged to such "practitioner" (it can mean anything to them, including smoking marijuana, having played ouija, praying to another god or to a saint for intercession, reading a horoscope, taking the communion, watching pornography etc.). They also believe that "because they're God's people", they're more prone to demon harassment (ironically). This means that anything recently acquired may become the prime suspect for any recent trouble. Similarly, they guilt people into reporting their "sins" or to peer pressure into reporting others, saying that "the Holy Spirit's protection may be lifted from the congregation" because of a sinner. The literature and speeches demonizes fantasy games, so a parent finding such will also tend to get rid of it. Some even consider TV to be a window that can let Satan and his demons in the house.

What a toxic life. Self-tormented for bullshit.

Made up answers that can't be disputed are not scientific. In science, your hypothesis must be falsifiable. However, it has been falsified, shown to be false. Prehistoric dinosaur fossils are much older than humanity and we can observe the evolution of various organisms in time. They're not all giants. Humans have a tendency to imagine creatures and monsters, as well as to influence their imagination with things. Some large animals existed, it's also possible that some large bones have been known of back then, being misinterpreted and also serving as inspiration. The origin myths in Genesis are not the first ones, even in their region, and we know of older influences that shaped them. We know that no universal flood occurred during humanity. We also know that humans like us date to at least 300k before present. It's not because you don't know and are arrogant that you know indisputable secrets. They're still not facts, only doctrinal assertions.

digby smith #fundie

But all that eschatology relied on self-defeating, pointless stories with unrealistic premises. An all powerful god that is claimed to have no creator and doesn't worship his own creator, feels lonely. It creates a huge universe for a small humanity who must believe to be the center of the world. It puts a mythological couple in a fantasy garden on a rocky planet that it doesn't know is a rocky planet yet. To kill the boredom, it then plays with them. So he makes promises to them, issues threats to them and lures them with an irresistible tree, that if omnicient, is aware they will bite. He's so bored that he even creates an archenemy. As planned, they bite the tree and it results in an imaginary version of our human condition. It's an anthropomorphic god and far from the first one, because like the others, it was imagined by humans, who also invented and shared stories. We can much better explain the human condition and our origins today and not only with origin myths.

Also, where in the scriptures do you find anything about "The cherubim are now as little girls"? Like the symbols in Revelations, "God's wife"'s mainstream interpretation is that it's symbolic, usually meaning Christianity. Like the 144k, representing all tribes, meaning that they should all have access to forgiveness and an afterlife in a heavenly paradise if deemed worth. But since none of that is concrete or about reality and that there are no actual Holy Spirit, angels, prophets or deities to come and correct our doctrines, sectarianism is rampant. And because cult leaders are often exploitative narcissists, they lure with new conflicting versions to segregate. For instance, in the Jehovah's Witness cult, only a small (now supposed to be dead, which is problematic for their doctrine) elite has access to the sky. They view as crackpots those who take the emblems at the yearly pantecostal communion (those who feel to have been called to become judges in celestial heaven, and dare taste the wine and unleavened bread). The authors of the stories also didn't know about atoms.

So, in which fantasy tabletop (or toilet-top) role-playing game was that?

I must have spent 2h reading the whole thread, or almost all of it.

Some comments that I found great were from: Thamex, Clown, Dark_Lord_Prime, TheObservantOutsider, bkb, Reynardine, Bastethotep, Canadiest, shy... There apparently was a parody on YouTube but the video is gone by now.

While many noted how the original post appeared to be parody, I also read the nautical999/vana saga. Assuming that it's really the same person and that they were not a troll, there were typical symptoms:

- The need to impose and dictate, rather than listen and learn, while claiming to have special access to what the alleged divine supposedly wants. Projects elitism, narcissism, not humility. "I will vet out to see what God wants done": who do you think you are, mortal?
- The denial of the reality of the other, that must absolutely be twisted as being something else. With judgmental accusations of alleged "sin", a subjective concept.
- Bigotry disguised as concern, with denial claims like "it's God who wants this", "God still loves you , but"... Unecessary repetitive rounds of conversation because of the inability to grasp what the other says (or unwillingness to accept it).
- Superstition, a simplist view of the world and of psychology, where everything is misconstrued as the work of supposed demons. A lot of false premises that would, instead of being able to help, as the preacher claims, may actually harm because they're false, reality-denial doctrinal subterfuges to prevent addressing the actual problems and posit false a-priori causes. The "signs of having a demon" were full of confirmation bias based on misconceptions.
- Obvious ignorance, while claiming to have the solution to everything.
- Claimed that obsession with demons is sign of a demon, when the only person seemingly concerned about them is the preacher itself.
- Bombarding with personal invasive questions about things that are none of their business, especially after already having been given too much information, plus all the evidence that motivated reasoning and misrepresentation, manipulation was at play.

Vana was really more patient than I would have been. At the same time, while not exactly at this level of insanity, I was myself raised in a cult that alienated me from reality. It took efforts and a long time to liberate my mind and open it again to be able to reassess reality and the world.
