“There are many atheists who claim to be such because there is "absolutely no proof whatsoever" that supports the existence of God.”
No, sweetie, we find no evidence of ANY gods. They’re all clearly inventions of men.
“Yet, many of these same people will tell you that they firmly believe that there is intellegent”
Intelligent.
“life elsewhere in the universe, even though there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that would support such a claim.”
Did you ever ask them why?
Science has yet to find anything that ABSOLUTELY cannot be explained without a deity. So no matter how complicated something is, or how great the odds against it in an undirected universe, it’s still possible.
Then, pick any number you like for the odds against intelligent life on any planet occuring without a deity. Any number you like.
Multiply that number times the number of planets in the universe.
So, the estimated number of appropriate planets for each star, times the number of appropriate stars in the galaxy, times the number of estimated galaxies… It approaches a certainty.
If the odds are a million to one against, then with a million planets, the odds are 1:1. With a billion planets, it’s 1000 to 1. With a trillion planets, 1000000 to 1.
