What the scientific method demands is ‘repeatable observations.’ Meaning if we detect background radiation, then any other researcher will detect it, too. All the evidence we collect to drive the conclusions we come to is available to people who check our work.
Unlike a vision, visitation, possession, or even a satori that cannot be replicated dependably. Doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen, but we can’t use it for science.

Nothing in evolutionary theory rests on Darwin getting a vision from God or Sainte Theresa of Blunt about DNA and inheritable traits.

2.) Attempts to directly update the original texts to modern language because the KJV is a translation of a translation which also had some deliberate changes to it (and a few additions) to match early 1600s political and cultural sensibilities.
3.) Attempts to “update” the bible to a particular culture’s or denomination’s sensibilities, like the KJV was.

KJV-onlyists like Davey J insist that the KJV is the pure, uncorrupted version when it’s actually “hahaha, no”. The stupider ones think that this means Ye Olde Englishe was the actual language spoken by Jesus.
