[In response to the question of whether or not science was a religion]
I've noticed some atheists get religious about it. I've met a few materialist-fundies who wanted all of the theists to be killed, or die somehow, etc. The Malthusian depopulationists totally remind me of the Nazis, too. Back in those days, for a while, it was a vital part of "Darwinism", and natural-selection was viewed by some as the sacred natural process which produced superiority via death and non-mercy. I've also noticed many quasi-darwinist quacks whom advocate flawed ideologies of genetic superiority only arising from random genetic mutations and competitive killing/starvation between one species and another.
