And we couldn’t have that! What a horrible world it’d be to live in, one where people actually dreamed of a better future! Let’s just limit the state to arresting dissidents and let corporations run everything else.

It's funny how some of these quotes go. Half you agree with, the other half being such a crazy about face it almost gives you whiplash.

But what Ignatius doesn't seem to realize is you can't have proper law and order if people aren't afforded equal protection under the law.

As a side note, I wonder what he'd think of the communist who wrote "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal."

Yeah. Well, guess who was recently re-elected on a massive landslide after an act of extreme inequality?

There must have been so much talk of equality about those victims of a terrorist atrocity perpetrated by a fascist that so many New Zealanders now agree with that Labour PM don't bother them about it.

With that now unjustifiable 'Opinion' of yours, they'll certainly never bother with you.

Least of all with your way of thinking.

Sounds like an admission the empty chant of "law and order" has really just been code for "remind the peasantry who holds the whip."

People like him generally believe that's what "order" is. His specific type of wingnut believes in strict social hierarchies that are rigidly enforced at gunpoint. And most of them don't imagine they'd be in one of the lower castes.

He would quibble over the definition of "men."

His definition likely wouldn't include non-whites.
