Being a Christianity-profaning cult, the Left needs a devil figure for their self-affirming Narrative. Since they deny the existence of both God and Satan, they've seized upon Hitler as the ultimate symbol of evil. They accuse transgressors against their creed Nazis much as Puritans made accusations of witchcraft. Except the Puritans were right.

While I agree that the word “Nazi” is thrown around a bit much these days, a lot of you far-right jerks are indeed proud, self-proclaimed Nazi’s. So if the shoe fits…

Ya know, Satanists are just a bunch of posers, as Brian would know if he had ever encountered genuine ones. Hitler, on the other hand, was actually real. So were Stalin and Chairman Mao, though Hitler looms larger in the English-speaking world’s consciousness because they were once at war with him. A war against Satanists would be very short!
While few people on the American far-right are honest-to-God sieg-heiling Nazis (basically just Stormfront and the Daily Stormer) many times more than that have asserted theories of racial differences, conspiracy theories re: Jews and advocated for an ‘ethnostate’. All of which were principal ideologies behind the Nazis. So calling such individuals ‘Nazis’ is not too far wrong, especially as (unlike the ‘witches’ of Puritan times) they won’t get tortured or killed because of what you said.
Many on the Left are Christians, and closer in action to Christ, than many Religious Rightists.
Sure, the term Nazis is used in both good and bad situations, and Hitler, though very evil, was just one man and wouldn’t have been able to perform the Holocaust without like-minded people around him. But if you’re far-right enough to want to deny people rights, even right to life, because of their ancestry, skin-tone, political views, sexuality or gender, then you’re basically a Nazi.
No, witchcraft does not exist, and no, the women, girls - at times as many as and, yes, also men who fell victims were not even cultists, satanic, pagan or otherwise. They were ordinary Christians like everyone else. The Witch Hunts were an sustained atrocity based on nothing but mass hysteria born from superstition and misogyny, and anyone trying to legitimise them is absolute scum.
