You know, it occurs to me that perhaps this might be part of the reason why a lot of Republicans act as if the right to privacy were not sacrosanct, at least on a legal level, despite the frequent whining about big brother. They can’t keep their mouths shut to save their lives, so nobody else is allowed to either.

Do you think a civil war is a good thing? War always leaves grievous injuries, and war inside a given polity cause wounds lasting beyond the lives of the involved persons. And it isn’t solely material factors such as destroyed infrastructure or societal impoverishment: there’s hatres transmitting from generation to generation.

Since there are liberals and conservatives in every state, are you expecting everyone to don a uniform so you’ll know which side your neighbor is on? When s/he throws a Molotov cocktail through your window, you might get an inkling that in a civil war, it’s difficult to identify the enemy. Even in The War for Southern Independence, there were supporters of the other side in every state. And there are plenty of “leftists” who are also veterans and/or gunowners, so what makes you so sure your side is going to end up on top? I doubt the fat trailer trash that shows up at Trump rallies will be much good in an actual fight, no matter what the weapons.
