Former President Donald Trump has repeatedly told his supporters he will serve as their “retribution” if he is elected again in 2024.
But pressed by Fox host Sean Hannity in a Fox News town hall Tuesday about whether he would abuse his power or seek retribution against his political enemies as president, Trump first sidestepped the question –and then seemed to minimize its seriousness, responding on a second round that he would only be a “dictator” on Day One of his presidency to address the border and domestic oil production.
“I’m going to be, you know he keeps, we love this guy, he says, ‘You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said, ‘No, no, other than day one. We’re closing the border and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling.’ After that I’m not a dictator,” Trump said.

…So, Trump admits he wants to be a dictator. What more proof do people need? Yes, he does say “only” on Day one, but come on! Even ignoring that he cannot accomplish everything on day one, who TRULY believes Trump would have it in him to give up his power as autocrat?
I mean, he’s compared himself to Nelson Mandela, probably Jesus Christ, and now to Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus…

The thing is, his fans want a dictator. Democracy has allowed things they hate to exist, and groups they hate to have rights. They want to go back to a system where they are on top, and POC, PWD, neurodivergent people, LGBT people, etc, are back on various lower levels. Basically they want a modern version of feudalism, and they want Trump to be king.
The people we have to convince are the moderate democrats. Some of them are going back to “right wing ideology isn’t serious, it’s a joke, Trump will never win, I don’t have to do anything other than maybe vote lalalalalala”. I’ve seen people saying that since the Capitol insurrection failed we don’t have to worry about them trying again, they’ve learned their lesson.
That’s what we need to fight against. We need to make them know that this is really fucking serious, this isn’t just another election. The shit they have planned if Trump wins is not just terrifying, it’s a death sentence for someone like me.

Trust me, I get that you’re terrified. Truly. I mean, I’m not an American (thus I sadly cannot actually vote against Trump, or do much besides voice my opinions online), but even I am truly scared if that thing becomes the Commander-in-Chief of the US’s military might and nukes again. Even IF they manage to keep the Nuclear Football from his tiny fingers, he’s still capable of screwing up a LOT of things for a LOT of people. I’m already scared if Russia decides to attack Europe as a whole; we don’t need a Caligula figure laughing at us from across the seas as he helps his ol’ buddy ol’ pal Putin with anything Russia needs…
We’re closing the border and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling.’ After that I’m not a dictator,” Trump said
…sayeth that which has also said that if it is re-elected will become more authoritarian. Just like some… thing else that was democratically elected in 1933. As someone else was. Who said this:
‘All who gain power are afraid to lose it. ’
I’m reminded of this quote from the TV series “The Water Margin”:
‘The ancient sages said, ‘Evil must have Good to feed upon. Then, destroys itself.’
He who became Kylo Ren. And what happened to another dictator after he became Ben Solo again.
The ultimate evil of the Empire. As with the Teabaggers post-Romney & pre-2016, we shall see the fall of the Trumptards. But since 2016, we’ve seen the latter’s evil: Charlottesville. 6th January 2021. The terrible politico-electoral consequences suffered by the Repubicans since: that ‘Red Wave’ which was nary a trickle. They who fought the evil that was Xerxes: as King Leonidas would say in his Laconically Witty way:

So your priority is to first destroy your enemies, to avenge of the slights you claims to have suffered and brags about being a dictator. Yet his voters claim to “love the Constitution.”
Look like a poster boy for tyrannicide.
Dictator perpetuo, is it, Trump? You don't want to end up like what happened in the Senate, to someone else who tried that.

Yeah I know you know. I just want people to realize that his followers know what he is. We can’t focus on changing their minds because he’s what they actually want in a leader. We need to make sure independents and democrats get out and vote against him.
The entire world has a lot to fear from this outcome. And I’ve been seeing some smug, “we got this, don’t worry about it” dems and that freaks me out. And they think people like the Q Shaman are a joke and thus harmless. We can’t sit and rest on our laurels when we don’t actually have the laurels yet.

Made even more difficult by the fact that there’s SO MANY folks on the Left who already announced plans to just set the election out because of Biden’s position involving Israel-Hamas War, not to mention a Muslim group who fully knows that not voting for Biden means Trump wins but don’t care as long as Biden “pays” for his stance in the current conflict between Israel and Hamas… Even after Trump fully admits he wants to be a dictator… leading me to go “dude, if Trump wins we probably won’t have another election!” since the reason why they’re doing this is purely because they think they can get the Democrats to shift leftward somehow… One, no you won’t, if anything you’ll get the Democrats to swift RIGHT because its’ pretty clear that getting the Left to vote for you is pointless, and Two, WE MIGHT NOT HAVE A DEMOCRACY ANYMORE SO YOU CAN’T DECIDE THE GOVERNMENT OR WORSE GET ARREST AND THROWN INTO A FUCKING CAMP… more examples of just how frequently and stupidly the Left in any nation falls apart due to short-sighted infighting
Confused?
