Did you perchance notice the geographical divide between orangutans and baboons?
In any case, neither evolution nor mutation has any sense of superior qualities or any other teleology. Put aside the Great Chain of Being and its allied ideas (e.g. that dinosaurs were *literally* waiting to die so humans could ultimately come on the scene). Besides, one could say that by your logic, one of evolution’s disproofs is us not turning into elves...

It’s the same thing. They often ask “Why aren’t apes still evolving into humans”, except this one has weirdly gone for “Why aren’t monkeys evolving into apes” (baboons are monkeys not apes). I’ve also seen “Why isn’t my Walkman evolving into a iPod” but that one might have been a Poe. Might have been.
Now we know why the likes of the OP haven't accepted Evolution as fact .
