Um, yes. 'Naut` means 'nautical.' As in, sailors, navigation, ships.
You think 'aeronautics' is the ability to sail on water in the sky, Or design the ships that do?
In this case, 'naut' is used to mean 'trained explorer' more tgan 'one who sees water.'
So we get words like chrononaut for time traveler, aeronaut gor pilot, and astronaut for the space explorer.
Geez, i can never grasp the mental gymnastics people gothru to pretend their faith is validated by completely unconnected coincidences....
