Uuuuhmmmm… looks outside of my window No, sorry, hate to disappoint you, but it seems we’re doing fine. Certainly much better than the USA, which has a lot of domestic terrorism, corruption in the highest ranks, dozens of children who die of school shootings all the time, an upcoming war with China, and fascists who are taking over…
America, you are all that is left of the west.

Years ago I interviewed a Republican Party bigwig in Florida who screeched about how Europe was a "socialist hellhole" with every small business being crushed by taxes and regulation (and of course that Obama was going to do the same in the U.S.). Then, speech over, he casually mentioned that he went to Europe all the time, loved it, and made lots of money there.
Do you know when the last mass shooting was over here? Me neither! And, I went to an orthopedician recently and had an MRT done. Do you know how much I paid? Hint: don’t divide by that number! And if I were to lose my job, I’d still get at least a meager amount of money, and would still get health insurance! Such dystopia, much nightmare, wow!

Consequences that make getting sued for a decade of denying tragedy and egging the harassment of families seem pedestrian.
You want bodies in a pile to feel like you've got the power to make the world cater to your preferences as long as you're the one quicker to reach for a trigger. We want a world we would proud to leave to our children, children we don't have to bury.
Oh right, but I don't know of many Australian schoolkids who are down, in a pool of their own blood, like at Uvalde. Apart from a few family violence murders, the last were hopefully the Mikac girls. Wishing Canadian schoolchildren the same: graduations and long life.

Strange, from here, it’s YOU who sound like a Third World dystopian nightmare - rampant endemic gun violence, public spending being neglected in favour of stuffing the coffers of the rich, voter suppression, conspiracy theories including claiming that civil rights are an evil cultural imperialist plot of Western elites to corrupt their culture, religious reactionaries, suppressed family planning and high maternal mortality…
