Actually, I thought the big bugbear with right-wingers was the appearance of non-white and mixed-race kids in adverts. One can only theorise that D’Souza, being a former Indian (from India), feels left out because he can’t whine about that, and invents his own garbage instead.

The Right has this thing where they don’t believe that the Left actually values or believes the things they espouse. Gay rights, equality, not fucking the planet over just for some meaningless pieces of paper with imaginary worth - nobody really wants these things, they’re all just stepping stones to taking supreme power because bwa-ha-ha evil. It’s all projection - the Left can’t believe in anything, because the Right doesn’t believe in anything.

Heck; I think the real Uncle Tom from that novel gets a bad rap and wasn’t the old servile butt-kisser people assume. It’s white-run minstrel shows that came up with that.
The real Uncle Tom was a tall hunky young black man who stood up for his fellow slaves and was killed because he wouldn’t divulge where they were.
Uncle Tom gets a bad rap because of latter white-bigots “reclaiming” and distorting him and the fact that many blacks found him too pacifistic.
I feel Tom should be reclaimed as a noble Civil Rights archetype of the “peaceful but strong” activist.
