I for one, NEVER understood why a supposedly eternal, eons-old(*), incomprehensible, inhuman, incorporeal, omnipotent & omniscient cosmic entity that predates the concepts of sexes and gender would care SO much what the gender roles and sex lives are of a bunch of insignificant, random, barely-sapient apes who live on a random, backwater mudball somewhere in the infinite multiverse…
To such a being, the gender roles and sex lives of humans would be just as interesting and amusing as the gender roles and sex lives of ants…
(*)We’re speaking of a entity who is supposedly SO old that, to them, all of human civilization would barely be a footnote in a text one could not even leaf through in a star's life cycle. A being to whom all of recorded time would not even count as a hummingbird heartbeat.

So, yeah, Todd. Explain that to me. If you can.

Thing is, when even the friggin’ NRA is furious at ICE and Kristi Nobrain for what they did (them openly saying Alex “deserved” to be shot for carrying a concealed weapon), you KNOW your days are over. You know, assuming this is legit, I actually pity the OP. I can imagine life must not be remotely enjoyable if you have such an intense misanthropic hatred/fear of 50% of the human population. Also, while I sadly admit that “might makes right” is an all too prevalent philosophy throughout human history and the reality is indeed that those with the power tend to make the rules, it’s ultimatly also a self-defeating philosophy. Power is relative, after all, and more often that not there will always be someone else wielding an even bigger stick than you. Sometimes the person with the bigger stick might even be a somewhat decent person who causes positive change.

Frankly if I have power I’d only use it to make these “might makes right” shut up by using the only language they understand. But aside from that I’d prefer never to wield it.

Well, larger ships and space stations in Star Wars (like Star Destroyers and the Death Star) primarly use a fictional substance called “hypermatter” to fuel their reactors. But I don’t know how that substance is supposedly aquired (aside from that it naturally exists in Hyperspace) and how often such reactors need to be refueled. That being said, the Resistance Cruiser (MC85 Star Cruiser Raddus) from TLJ needing to “refuel” after a single hyperjump is still nonsensical. A ship of that size (over 3km long) and mass should have a reactor capable of supporting a lot more usage before running out of fuel. And you honestly cannot convince me the Resistance did not fuel her to the maximum capacity before leaving their base…

As a BIG Stargate nerd, I can say there are multiple power sources in Stargate(*), but THE most potent and covetet ones are the “ZPMs” (Zero-Point Modules) built by the Ancients. Portable, yet also capable of drawing IMMENSE amounts of clean zero-point energy from artificial pocket-universes. However, ZPMs do not have limitless energy, once one has used up all its capacity it’s completely useless. And in the present day NOBODY knows how to actually construct more.

Same here. I can’t recall exactly when I “became” an atheist (although my parents were atheists, they never “forced” it upon me), but I do remember already questioning some of my more religous teachers’ preachings in late elementary school. Especially the story of Abraham and Isaac (*); even as a child I found that to be an effed up moral and could just NOT understand why my teacher read that as if it was a good thing. I even remember a fellow student once being dismissed by a teacher when simply asking her “how do the dinosaurs fit into the creationism story?”

(*)You know, where the revered founder Abraham was about to sacrifice his own beloved son for the sake of his deity…

Same with my younger sister, who was in mid-elementary school once ridiculed in front of her class by a fundie teacher just for (correctly) pointing out that humans are actually animals.
