Even when we are born-again we still must go through the lifelong process of renewing our minds. We do this by literally being brainwashed; not in a bad negative way. But in a good way. The right way. After all:
if your brain has been steeped in filth and darkness its entire existence, washing it is exactly what's needed. And you wash your mind by listening to the Word of God - the Bible - and allowing it to teach you how to live, act and be.
By allowing your mind to go through the metamorphosis of total transformation under the brilliant cleansing light of God's Word, you prepare yourself to be a Kingdom citizen of the Most High, and a person God can trust with His true riches.
Get into His word! Become studious - addicted even - to reading and devouring the scriptures. You know you are undergoing the type of transformational positive brainwashing I'm speaking of here when you find yourself crazy-addicted to studying the Bible. You can't get enough of it, no matter how many times or how often you've read it.
That's the kind of addiction God wants you to have; an addiction to hearing what God has to say.

Stop the War Coalition (STWC) held a meeting on the tense situation on the Korean peninsula . From a KFA viewpoint the meeting was a bit hmm to say the least . The problem with STWC is that they believe in excluding and marginalising any pro DPRK , pro Juche view point .(KFA did offer to send a speaker but this was declined ) One of the positives of the meeting was that the warmongering and hype of the British media , including so-called 'liberal ' papers like the 'Guardian ' .They were some attempts to explain the context of the DPRK nuclear programme , it was correctly pointed out the US introduced nuclear weapons on to the Korean peninsula in 1957.
However where the meeting went seriously off track and ended up justifying US imperialism was when two of the speakers parroted the claim of the US to have withdrawn nuclear weapons from the Korean peninsula in early 1990s,. The US had deployed up to 1750 nuclear weapons in south Korea at one time and the figure averages at around 1,000. The US took a NEITHER CONFIRM NOR DENY stance towards nuclear weapons in south Korea after 1991 . Evidence revealed to the south Korean ' national assembly ' has shown that they are still there . It is deplorable that STWC echoed US imperialist propaganda on this point.
Veteran fake Leftist and DPRK basher Tariq Ali was relatively restrained but managed to tell a silly and ludicrous story that Benazir Bhutto had given the DPRK nuclear weapons and had taken them to the DPRK on her presidential plane !!! (Blimey !) .

"In a Heartbeat" is a new animated short film that's making its way across the internet presently. I watched it for the first time this morning and was actually really moved by the project. It depicts two boys, probably middle school age; one is being "outed by his heart" for the other. The conclusion is their realization that they share similar feelings for one another, despite what onlookers may be feeling towards such feelings.
I was struck as I watched the film because of how the heart of the first character is pulling him throughout the entire film. This is what God warns about countless times in scripture. Our hearts are "deceitful above all things, and desperately sick" (Jeremiah 17:9). Left unrestrained by the gospel and His saving work in us, our hearts will always lead us into sin.
Each and every person is born with a heart that is hard and cold to God. We are born with a bent towards sin and in opposition to God. Believers refer to this as a 'sin nature.' It's why we must be born again. We need a heart transplant that enables us to love God before ourselves and to daily choose to obey Him and not whatever whim our heart attempts to drag us towards.
This life is full of things that promise us happiness: money, relationships, popularity, and a number of other idols. True joy and peace comes only from knowing Jesus as Lord, and with that comes a new life where Jesus, not our sinful hearts, calls the shots. If we're being led by our hearts and not His Spirit, we can expect only heartache and emptiness in this life but much worse than that, we can expect the righteous wrath of God who will not overlook sin (Acts 17:30).
To be of this world and it's ways- drunkenness, sexual immorality (opposite sex couple who are unmarried or same sex couples), idolatry, etc- is to make oneself an enemy of the God who hates the wicked (Psalm 5:5). Forsake your sins while you are able and turn to Jesus for life and forgiveness. He can make even the vilest offender new. How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation (Hebrews 2:3)?

When I first came into Christianity, I was introduced to a poor suffering Jesus. He was presented to me as the 'camel through the eye of the needle-rich man hating' Jesus. 'The birds have nests foxes have holes' Jesus.
Basically, I was shown a very poor impoverished version of Jesus Christ. And I believed it. People told me you can't have God and mammon, so I rejected mammon and gladly served God instead.

Why did He refer to 'my' God - thus personalizing Him - instead of saying 'our' God? Weren't they serving the same God? The answer is yes and no.
See, the Philippians had an idea or concept about who God was that was based on limitations they had placed on God due to their own limited beliefs. So they were serving a very limited version of God when it came to their finances.
But Paul had a different more unlimited idea about God - his own personal version of our Heavenly Father based on his own concepts and experiences with God. He was introducing this more powerful, richer aspect of God to the people he wrote to, in order to bolster their faith to expect God to do more for them too.
We serve a really big God! So why do you limit Him when it comes to your finances? Why do you put brakes on a brake-less God by trying to limit His unlimited ability?
You cannot really put brakes on God; but you can limit what He does for you personally in your life. Doubt is the equivalent of putting brakes on Him. But faith takes the limits off and allows God to fully be God in your life.
