… America was founded with the explicate intent of giving the concept of a hereditary monarchy the bird, we fought a war over it for fuck’s sakes and now you want us to have a GODDAMN KING!? You… don’t like the United States government do you? Or rather, you don’t like the way it’s structured, being a (de jure) representative republic with a system of checks and balances in place to enjoy that no part of the government has too much power over the other, given you just admitted that you want an ABSOLUTE GODDAMN MONARCHY INSTEAD OF A DEMOCRACY. So, don’t bitch and complain to me when I call you unamerican for suggesting that we should embrace a form of government we had a WAR to be rid of, that, to me, is the very anthesis to the United States as it exist, and thusly you, dear sir, are unamerican.
So you want a monarchy instead of a Republic based on a Constitution that was created precisely by the rejection of another country's king, OP? Fine:

Also, what do kings have to do with “supreme control over the armed forces”? You don’t need to be a monarch for that, and a lot of monarchs did not have supreme control.
By the way, the monarch of the “United States of America”, a continent-spanning union of states that makes a claim of supremacy not only over the continent but the Free World™, would certainly be an emperor, not a king.

Knowing “Emperor” Trump, he’d probably do the same thing as Sidious did in Star Wars; if he can’t rule then nobody can. Rather destroy the entire USA than let anyone, even the Grim Reaper, take it away from him.
