Obviously not all prochoicers, but a significant amount, suffer from tokophobia; therefore they describe pregnancy as this awful body horror, that will end in ripped genitals or abdominal mutilation every time without the beautiful "way out" that is abortion. Therefore they will find a way to excuse anything, as long as it saves them from their worst nightmare... Well, anything besides not enjoying vaginal intercourse with partners who can impregnate, apparently.

Tell these people that they are free not to buy tickets for the lottery where the big prize is literally their worst effing nightmare. Forcing anyone to play is illegal already. So it's indeed a choice. You think pregnancy is a blessing..? Cool, we're all free to act accordingly. You think pregnancy is literal torture / punishment / your worst nightmare...? Cool, we're all free to act accordingly. Just maybe, your unfortunate phobia is a personal problem, and the solution shouldn't be "what if we ALL agreed that unborn human life is just utterly worthless.. unless someone happens to want it there.? 'Cos that'd be better for me, thanks." But then, I suppose that living in a reality that doesn't exist primarily to cater to their own self interests regarding what they personally like and do not like is "torture" too.

Ok, first of all, where do you get the information that this is true for a “significant amount” of prochoicers? What is that amount anyway? Sounds like at least 20% or so, but the more realistic number converges towards 0. A true tokophobic would also probably be severely troubled by the probability of getting pregnant and therefore either be troubled by the thought of sex (with partners who can impregnate), or at the very least do everything in their power to stop it from happening. So no, you can’t have your cake and eat it too by claiming that they are phobic towards pregnancies but enjoy sex without complications (which is to say, you trying to blame women for having casual sex again).

And then you are not even keeping up the veneer of being truthful about this, with the common PRATT of “Well if you find pregnancies so disturbing, just don’t have sex WOMEN! You just want consequence-free sex, and that can’t be allowed!”.
The thing is, pregnancies can be quite dangerous. About 1 percent of all pregnancies suffer from complications, which doesn’t sound so significant, until you realize just how many women get pregnant and that modern medical techniques are a huge factor for keeping these numbers down. We are talking about almost a hundred thousand pregnancies with complications here. I have no direct experience with it, but I know that even without complications, childbirth can be drawn out, bloody, exhausting and painful. There is reason why in movies and television the actual happenings of it are mostly reduced to a cut and the baby in its mother’s arms.

I won’t even go into that whole “women must be punished for casual sex with babies” rethoric, it is asinine. Don’t even pretend to not be a misogynistic prick.

Hmmm. Hmm. We have three kids. Two ripped hell out of my wife’s vagina. One was Cesarean section. I changed the dressing on that a few times.
This is not my worst nightmare (That involves the McDonald’s Land Fry Kids and a Franklin Class submarine). But it is a fact and a risk.
You cannot have this discussion and pretend there’s never complications, up to and including the death of the mother and/or the child. You just want to reduce the argument to name-calling and victim-blaming.

I still prefer to base it on the same premise that _I_ don’t have to donate my organs, even after death, even if someone’s life depends on it. I don’t even have to donate blood. Bodily autonomy is pretty sacrosanct with teh exception of women who have had sex you don’t approve of.

First of all, people can find pregnancy a blessing and still experience some pretty horrific shit. It isn't a cakewalk, and the reality is that a lot of people will end up with permanent damage. People should have the option to not do that. Secondly, people can do all they can to prevent a pregnancy and still end up pregnant through sheer bad luck or human error. Plus, a lot of you fuckers want to make it harder to get contraception. And lastly, stop obsessing over how women have sex.

My not wanting kids has nothing to do with fear of pain. I grew up not being able to see in 3d, I ran into a lot of stuff and hurt myself plenty, it’s not pain I’m afraid of. My worst nightmare involves alien clowns, not pregnancy.

I chose to not have children because I was neglected as a kid and until I went through therapy, I didn’t have the capability to raise any kid and not ignore them the way I was ignored. I never want anyone, but especially not a child, to feel the way I did, and I don’t want to perpetuate the cycle of inter-generational trauma. You want to know pain? Like, truly terrifying pain? Talk to a kid who is being ignored and knows their family doesn’t want them.

Your misrepresentation forgets the fact that many have been or will be mothers and that some are actually too young meaning that pregnancy is dangerous. You're trying to dehumanize people who understand that your taboos are nonsense and that enforcing them on others is unacceptable.

Explain why Senate Republicans blocked the bill to codify the right to contraception, since contraception reduces the likelihood of pregnancy and the need or desire for abortions. More access to birth control equals fewer abortions. How hard is that to follow and why can’t “pro-lifers” understand it?

Oh, right, because their real concern is all the slutty women having sex, and how they need to be punished. I look forward to the day when all men are required to provide DNA samples to a pregnancy database. Then every child can be tested and the father identified, so he can provide child support for the next 18 years.
