Oh boy... here goes!!
The privilege of being able to be open targets of racism and discrimination because society believes you can't do such to them?
Yeah, about being a target... You may be the target of individual bigotry, which is not ok, but you are not the target of systemic racism.
The privilege of being sent to die by the thousands or millions in the Civil War and other wars usually against their will and being seen as easily disposable and replaceable immediately afterwards?
So you whine about being a target of racism while at the same time erasing the contributions of people of color to our history. Gee, it’s almost like you think only white men fought in those wars. Do you know who Crispus Attucks is? I’m guessing not, or maybe you just didn’t know that the first casualty of the Revolutionary War was a man of black and native heritage?
The privilege of having any negative encounter with a person of color be defaulted to "obviously because the white guy is a racist".
If all of your negative encounters with POC get defaulted to “that guy’s a racist” then you’re most likely doing something racist.
The privilege of being generalized as all racist by black support groups like BLM, but only when its the other way does it suddenly become an issue?
Well, BLM and the civil rights movement don’t have a history of genocide and creating a racial underclass through slavery and oppression. White supremacy does.
The privilege of being banned from speaking at an "anti racism" event in a university because they're white which barely got any uproar when the other way would probably bring riots?
I’m guessing you’re talking about Milo. First of all, he was there to be counter productive and harmful. That’s the only reason he does anything. Second of all, we went for years with the only representation being white, white, white, including on things like anti-racism. You know what happens sometimes when people who aren’t part of an oppressed group are somehow the spokespeople for that group? They get things wrong. They say the wrong things. They misunderstand. It’s time to let oppressed groups, including POC, speak for themselves and for others to actually listen.
The privilege of *not* having the world riot in protest when even just *one* of us is a victim of police brutality.
I understand where you’re coming from, but like I told IceStationZebra, a lot of that is related to ableism. We still think it’s fine for police to kill PWD because society is scared of us in a similar way that they are scared of POC.
The privilege of being attacked by PC culture for wearing dreadlocks or having hair in a bun?
When people of color wear their traditional clothing and hairstyles, they tend to get punished for it. Including losing their jobs. White people don’t always get the same punishment for wearing what is considered traditional for people of color. As a person with disabilities, I can kind of relate. I used to be punished for stimming, wherever I was. Now I see people with spinners, stim cubes, etc, and some of them are friends that I know don’t have disabilities, they just got them because they like playing with them, and they don’t get in trouble. It makes me a little mad.
The privilege of being pulled over by a cop and being told "Oh sorry sir, I didn't know you were white, carry on"....which *never* happened ever.
So here’s a question... what were you being pulled over for? We’re you following the law or did they have a reason? Because POC get pulled over for no reason or made ones.
The privilege of being seen as such victims of society that entire support groups rise in power and make city wide protests and any criticism is buried under accusations of prejudice thus allowing anyone to speak negatively of them without being seen as racist...oh wait, that's not whites.
That’s because, even if we’re “victims of society” in someways, it’s not because of our whiteness.
The privilege of white males who can be jailed for LIFE or even sentenced to death for a woman making a false accusation with zero evidence as a uncommon but still noticable rate?
Oh this bullshit again... do you know how fucking difficult it is to make a true rape accusation, let alone a false one, and be believed?
... probably not, never mind...
(And no, there is no problem with people of color having support. The problems is people using that to shit on white people)
And the problem with you is that you will always see people who are not up you getting support as you being shit on.
