Unless your game is about sodomizing children, there's no reason (aside from political) to include a gay person.
There's no reason to specify a sexual preference at all.

(…oh wait, that still makes too much sense…)
Unless your game is about domestic abuse, there's no reason (aside from political) to include a straight person.

PS:
Unless your game is about shooting up schools, there’s no reason (aside from political) to include an American person.
There’s no reason to specify a nationality at all.
Unless your game is about serial murder of sexually active people, there's no reason (aside from political) to include an asexual person.
There's no reason to specify a sexual preference at all.
Cool story bro. Meanwhile I’m enjoying RP games where I can choose my characters’ gender, personality, and sexuality. You know, like the Mass Effect franchise, Dragon Age franchise, or even Fallout franchise and Baldur’s Gate III.
“Unless your game is about sodomizing children, there's no reason (aside from political) to include a gay person.”
Okay.
Of course, you’re just reinforcing the observation that to certain types of people, the two types of sexuality are ‘hetero’ and ‘political.’
And the two genders, ‘Het’ and ‘political.’
And the two races, ‘Whites’ and ‘political.’
I don’t make games, but i do write. I don’t often write gay characters, but when i do, it’s because it’s right for what i want that character to contribute to the story, and if that’s ‘political’ then what fucking difference does it make? I wanted it in the story, it’s my story, read it or don’t, just don’t pretend you’re any sort of authority.

Like Mrs. Pac Man?
Unless your game is about racists, misogynists, paedophile excusers, terrorist sympathisers there is no reason (aside from political) to have antiwoke or Christian or right wing characters.
After all Josh Duggar is on your side
On one level, quite a lot of games are literally doing that - romanceable characters are “playersexual”, so they don’t really have a clear sexual orientation, not even straight. It only matters if there are side romances unrelated to the player.
That’s not what they mean by that, though. Being straight means “not having a sexual orientation” because they’re interpreting “orientation” to mean something like “difference or deviance from the norm”.
Unless your game is about sodomizing children, there's no reason (aside from political) to include a heterosexual person.
There's no reason to specify a sexual preference at all (but the majority of pedophile scum are heterosexuals).
Confused?
