Considering those illiterate, overweight, overtly racist thugs with known criminal records who are utterly unemployable in any other circumstances with one man stated to have been declared medically unfit to work at all due to being over 450lbs are specifically targeting immigrants checking in with their immigration officer, at their hearings, and supposedly even jumping those on their way to their naturalization ceremony - the end point where they are officially citizens - it’s about time to stop pretending it’s because they came in “the wrong way” and insulting everyone’s intelligence like they don’t already get what you’re actually after. The “crime” isn’t that they came in the wrong way, the crime isn’t even that they’re in the country because Operation Irish Goodbye is set to target those trying to leave as demanded. The “crime” is that they fucking EXIST and a trip to a slave camp is meant to change that.
Enjoy your socio-political power: just like certain so-called ‘people’ did in France just over 80 years ago, until soon after Operation Overlord. Which denied the right of those so-called ‘people’ to lord themselves over the locals who weren’t in lockstep with those who goose-stepped into their country a few years previously. During that time, said locals mentally said to those so-called ‘people’ “May you live in interesting times”. It certainly was when - seeing those approaching Sherman tanks & Jeeps through binoculars with Carl Zeiss optics - those goose-steppers did more than just that in the general direction of away , leaving those so-called ‘people’ to the tender mercies of said locals: said ‘people’ being collaborators. In just a few months, locals in your country will get their revenge: electorally.
Thus that phrase is just as relevant today, re. the midterms & beyond: May you live in interesting times.

And I’m not including an ‘again’ at the end of the second one because, regardless of what these assholes might think, America has never been a ‘white’ country. Yes, ever since Sheas’s and Bacon’s rebellions, we’ve made sure whiteness is prized above all else, but people of all colors, religions, genders, orientations, classes, abilities, etc, have contributed to the country we now know as the United States of America. Some by force, many by choice.
When the IRS needed more funding, it was cut, instead the tax money serves for corruption, a police state, piratery in the Caribbean, trade wars, funding private indoctrinatory schools and technocracy elites, the oppression of minorities and democracy...
