That which was compelling is the TV film “The Executioner’s Song”, based on the RL last months of Gary Gilmore. I watched it years ago and the main role had such an impact on me, it cemented then that which I always say: there is no such thing as a bad Tommy Lee Jones film.
He played an actual person who chose his method of execution: firing squad. I bet they checked extremely carefully those rifles, certainly the rounds loaded into such. Certainly that all had blanks in them. Because they wouldn’t want someone who was innocent killed. What happened during the production of a more recent film: “Rust”. The plot of which was coincidentally someone saving his young cousin from being executed for an accidental killing. An actual accidental killing.
Fortunately the one who played that main character Alec Baldwin was found innocent after what happened. How did Baldwin know a gun that was given to him - a prop - was loaded with actual rounds? Thus in so many places & circumstances, mistakes can be made. The law can make mistakes.
Just ask the Birmingham Six, Josh. Pray that the same doesn’t happen to you.
Or worse.
Hey, one doesn’t have to be a murderer to be in prison to be on Death Row: just ask former inmates who have been victims of shankings. Committed by those who were psychos - schizophrenics - and imprisoned for life, thus with nothing to lose and said inmate(s) just happened to be nearest. Like I say, OP: the law can make mistakes.
Pray that you don’t become the result of one.
The reason why the Birmingham Six were still alive to be released because of what was worse than a mistake by the legal system is due to one simple fact:
Britain scrapped the death penalty.
Can you figure out why, Joshiepoos…?!
