Only a return to BIBLICAL Christianity can cure our cultural issues. We will not vote our way out of the mess we find ourselves in. According to an internet search there are currently 45,000 denominations of Christianity in the world today. DENOMINATE means to divide.
As part of studying extremism and QAnon and going back to the pandemic, it was interesting to see the POV of the churches seeing their fidels stray away from their control. Most falling into the rabbit holes were already vulnerable, into counterculture, conditioned with the disdain of knowledge institutions and the normal press. Then propaganda campaigns designed especially for them exploited this to even alienate them from their church... Church leaders reacted in various ways, some embracing it themselves, others opposing it, then some who felt powerless fearing possible consequences of a reaction. In any case, this further promoted sectarianism. Those it affected the most were apparently already lured to far-right extremist alternative media. Pastors suddenly saw "their flock" get divided with the confused going on a quest for a personal mystic journey.

But religions have always splintered and a reason is that despite restorationist and primitivist movements, they cannot agree with eachother and are also lured out when one of them decides to start a new cult. Then the fact that each can only appeal and cherry pick from human tradition. Nothing new under the Sun...
