I brought up the C.I.S. because, in addition to the megacorporations and Sith, many of the member planets were Outer Rim alien worlds that had legitimate grievances against the human centered core worlds. They were coopted by Nute Gunray, to be sure, but they had good intentions. At one point, in the Clone Wars cartoon, some of the moderates even tried to broker a peace treaty, which Count Dooku pretended to go along with, only to arrange for a false flag attack by what appeared to be Republic forces against said moderates. Dooku also controlled the flow of information so that many of the lower level Separatists had no idea that General Grievous was using chemical weapons against civilians, unless they consumed Republic media which they would of course assume was fake. Even the use of battle droids was considered by the Separatists to be humane, as opposed to the slave armies of the Republic. You probably won't be surprised to hear that many of the lower level Separatists joined the Rebel Alliance, as the Empire used their previous insurrection as an excuse to stop neglecting them and just outright terrorize them.
Obviously, I don't consider BLM to be villains, but if Adam wants to demonize them, he can at least pick a group of villains that form a coherent analogy. That, or he genuinely thinks BLM controls 2 and a half branches of government.
