Small niggle: Why extra mass? A human sized wolf would be large, but I've got an Anatolian who weighs in at 160, so essentially the size of a human in a fur suit.
That said, most of the references to someone being a wolfhead are a poetic way to say bandit, not someone who was actually endowed with a lupine skull, because they were acting like a wolf (according to people who didn't know that much about how wolves actually act. Pratchett had a few things to say. They mean that men act like men toward other men, and the worse they are, the more they think they're really being like wolves.)
