I mean, I’m not afraid of the Omicron variant. I don’t understand why anybody would be. Either you have natural immunity already, which means you’re safe. Or you’ve been vaxxed, which means you can’t… oh wait.

First you need to catch Covid to get natural immunity and why would you want to risk that? Second immunity for the virus stacks. So if you get vaccinated you get some immunity to the virus, then if you catch it your immune system will not only fight the virus better but you will gain more immunity.
This isn't a one or another thing.
There were those who said that about the Delta variant. Notice I say 'Said': as in the past tense instead of 'Saying'.
Can you figure out why they're not saying that now , OP...?!
“I don’t understand why anybody would be.”
Really? Two years of people mentioning the immuno-compromised and you can’t think of ANYBODY who’d be concerned about a newly evolved variant, along with a large component of the population refusing to take the most basic steps to limit the spread of said variant?
Huh. Where do you get your news from, Soap Digest?
Or third option, you're neither immune nor vaccinated, and are thus at risk. Because it's not like there was a huge disinformation campaign about the vaccine headed by assholes who value yelling at the waiter in person more than they do human life.
I’m not any more afraid of the virus, than I am of other things that deserve respect: snakes, sharks, crocodiles, etc. It probably means another shot and another winter lockdown, but the world has survived 2 years of this. You seem to forget that some people have been having a flu shot for years, already, and there always was a new virus every flu season.
If you're not afraid of any variant of covid-19, you're an idiot. Because there's no guarantee you'll die: you might live for years suffering from heart damage, lung damage, the effects of stroke, etc. Who wants to take that risk?
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that, while Omicron may possibly be vax-resistant, it’s a very mild variant and hopefully newer vaccines and boosters can be made to combat it, soon.
With a few exceptions, vaxxed people who still get a form of the ‘Vid usually have it a lot milder and recover well (since the vax still can fight it and decrease the severity).
As long as one gets all the vaccines and boosters, wears a mask and washes their hands, they’re fine.
That said gotta de-platform those twelve or so dumbasses responsible for most of the Covid misinformation.
Confused?
