Yes, a character who has been popular since long before they were born is a new SJW plot to corrupt Marvelās legacyā¦
On a completely unrelated note: Never forget feeemale nerds donāt exist, just Fake Geek Girlsā¢ pretending to be into nerd stuff to further their agenda!
She-Hulk is a great character who has had some great comic runs. I really hope its a courtroom drama mixxed with superhero action.
Now I do wish Marvel would make a new Hulk movie. An R rated one based on the amazing Immortal Hulk run.
She-Hulk: Turning the fourth wall into a sieve since before Deadpool was devised. (And I mean, when he was comparatively ordinary in his perceptions.)
I wait to see what happens when/if we get a She-Hulk/Deadpool crossover film. Hopefully theyāll team up on skewering the machismo āfandomā.
Didā¦did they forget that She-Hulk is her own character and is not, in fact, a replacement for Hulk? Just like how āgirl-Thorā is Jane, her own person, and not a direct replacement of Thor Odinson despite taking up the mantle? and black Captain America is Sam Wilson, his own person, and not a ret-con to make Steve Rogers black?
Adding diversity to the cast does not replace your original straight white male heroes, asshats.
She-Hulk.
It's a canon comic series by Marvel - and years before the buyout by Disney - therefore there can be a film/TV/Streamed series. Deal with it.
To think: you've been proved wrong by True Believers, as His Excelsior!ness Stan Lee referred to fans of Marvel's creations. His legacy is secure, OPs.
Yours?
Hey, moronsā¦
She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema, she first appeared in Savage She-Hulk #1 (cover-dated February 1980).
Female superheroes have existed since the dawn of superhero comics. Granted, I suspect that the very first one (Hawkwoman) was more of a sidekick role at first, though sidekicks are still superheroes in themselves. And they werenāt exactly common until the 1960s. But theyāve always been there. Some have even been popular.
Now itās true that the āmass audienceā superheroes have largely been limited to Batman, Superman, and Spiderman for the longest time. And even in the early days of the DCU and MCU theyāve been focusing on the largely white male ālegacy charactersā, but that has played out and theyāre focusing more on the second-tier characters. Which have a lot of women and minorities, and most of them have been fairly popular since before most of todayās comic fans were even born, and still are.
Just because youāre clueless about something which isnāt aimed at you doesnāt mean that it doesnāt already have an audience, or that itās a conspiracy to push values you donāt share onto the general public. Itās really egocentric to assume so.
I've never read She-Hulk, or even He-Hulk. Not a fan of superhero comics.
Apparently, neither are āAlan Lockhartā and the rest.
Honey, up to now, everything has been about men. But women make up about 50 percent of the population, so we want 50 percent of everything else, as well. Man-babies like you usually start whining when we reach about 30 percent representation, bleating that āwomen are EVERYWHEREā, even though men still hold 70 percent at that stage, so there literally ARE men everywhere.
HULK doesnāt need to āheā[sic] a boy, either.
We have a metoo movement and suddenly Marvel realized that half of the customers are women, and that they might want a bit of representation now and then tooā¦
While I admit Iāve never read any She-Hulk comics (or really many American comics), I do know about her, enough to know that she is not a āfemale Hulkā, but a standalone character (aside from the fact that she is Bannerās cousin), and a pretty popular heroine for a variety of reasons. I mean, afaik, sheās one of the strongest, smarter, sexiest, empowering, and funniest female superheroes there is. Putting her in the MCU is a pretty good move from Disney.
Honestly, if I didnāt know better, Iād think these morons are just butthurt that the āJade Giantessā is not their real life gf. But I do know better, and these are just misogynistic buttholes who are so insecure in their masculinity that the mere mention of āvaginaā causes them to cower.
Shit, I'm not even a comic book consumer and even I know about She-Hulk. Wasn't she featured in Hulk cartoons in the 90's?
I was just wondering the other day about her like "wasn't there a female Hulk character, too?" and if she was gonna get featured in the MCU. Makes me happy she is.
Jesus, fuck. A strong, sexy, female lead gets a show on TV. That's never happened before. The public reacted SO BADLY to Xena and Buffy the Vampire Slayer it should be a warning against such things, huh?
But you know the modern television network: No concern for profits or precedence, just go around stabbing easily offended men in the eye and hoping there are enough viewers left to at least break even...
If they donāt have the jump-rope scene, or a fight with Dr. Bob Doom, DDS, then fuck Disney.
Also, Iām so sure that Stan Lee would just hate this. Heās probably spinning in his grave, ruing the day he created the character to beat a television network to the punch and deny them the IP.
(no joke, thatās also why Spider-Woman is a thing.)
It seems that the derp-tatos won, because she-hulk got confirmed to be utter doody on a stickā¦but it doesnāt have to do with the main character being a woman, ok?!?!?!? The show had a random twerking scene because IDKā¦at least there was a meta scene in the last episode.
Quotes = DERP, Show = ALSO DERP. (Just donāt count this comment as spam, ok?)
"Why everything gotta be about women ?ā
One female character gets a series and itās EVERYTHING.
You missed Golden Age and Silver Age comics. Seemed like everyone had either a female sidekick or a teenager. Supergirl, Hawkwoman, BatGirlā¦ Shazamās Mary Marvel.
Tell me, did you ever HEAR Of She-Hulk before the series?
"Who tf cares about women's rights?ā
Women.
Men who want to attract women.
Businesses that want womenās money.
āHULK DOESNT NEED TO HE A GIRLā
Hulk is hulk. SHE-hulk kinda does need to be a girl, though.
āWhy everything in marvel gotta be female nowā
She-Hulk has only existed since the 70ās. I can see why youāre shocked by her sudden appearance on TV.
"So we have a (metoo)movement and now all the male hero's and gone?ā
Yes, thatās exactly how it worked. All male heroes wiped off the boards so female versions of completely different characters could begin to exist. Have you picked up a comic book in the last ten years?
āSome how I think marvel just made a wrong turnā
THeyāre mining every possible character for any money theyāre worth it a mistake, but using established characters and just PRETENDING to invent them for the MCU is not the mistake you think it is.
āA woman hulk? That agendaā
