They weren’t “peaceful protesters” and you KNOW it!! They were carrying weapons and built a gallow to hang Pence and others from!! They caused deaths and vandalized the interior of the Capitol building!! They were out for blood because the democracy simply did its job and they didn’t like that!!!

Even IF the election was falsified they lost ALL sympathies by attemting a friggin’ COUP isntead of actually peacefully protesting!!!

SIx years ago, a general said he would stop Trump from committing a war crime. You guys were upset because people in uniform are supposed to obey orders! If Trump felt it necessary to nuke an allied country, that was his business, not the general’s.
Now you hypocrites want to punish those who do their jobs, obeying th eorders of those appointed over them.
Even if your case had the slightest merit to it, you’re squandered any credibility by demanding terrorism.

Out of curiosity … just how many of the J6 defendants are out on bail while awaiting trial?

Note that “J6 Protestor” as used here is a bit of a equivocation, whether intentional or not.

As I’ve said before, a few thousand were there to protest and nothing more. Those people did not commit any crime, even if some people found their message odious. AFAIK none of those people have been investigated by the FBI.

A few hundred were there to storm the capitol. Some of them vandalized the place, a few attacked the police, a few stole important documents and Nancy Pelosi’s laptop, and at least a few (and probably many) were there to kidnap and/or execute Mike Pence and any Democrats which they got their hands on. This goes well beyond any reasonable concept of “protest”, and given the general motivation of this group in particular, would be better described as “insurrection”. As insurrection is a federal crime, of course the FBI went after as many as they could track down.

Now as quite a lot of these people were “respectable” middle-class members and had never been arrested or experienced jail, and some of them were still better-treated than a “common criminal”, and also these are largely the same sort people who think that criminals aren’t treated brutally enough, any complaints from them about being treated poorly is just petulant whining. And if they really think “Muslim prisoners in Gitmo are better treated” then they have a *really* distorted view of things.

This reminds me of Trump often saying things like "back in the day we'd punish them good" or the like. But of course, when it's criminals for Trump, even light sentences in humane prisons means inhumane persecution. Diagnostic: bullshit.
