This was basically a joke from the last season of the US TV Sitcom “Married With Children” (late 80s-early 90s). However, Al Bundy is a scumbag who you aren’t supposed to emphasize with too much. Might have been recycled from something earlier than that, but it’s not a new thing. Unfortunately that joke wouldn’t have landed if it wasn’t plausible that there were men who thought that way, so Poe’s Law is in full effect here.

Well, sexuality of any orientation can often involve “fugly” people. I hate to break the news to you, but ugly people fuck too!
To relate what I think is a kinda funny story in a different vein, tho…back in the days when I was working as the “drive thru guy” at the local fast food place, I had one regular female customer who was always very friendly with me, bordering on flat out flirting…I eventually got up the nerve to ask her for her phone number, but she declined, as that girl who was always in the passenger seat of her car was actually her girlfriend. (and I was pretty sure she wasn’t just saying that, as other people who worked there knew her, lol) I guess my point is, she was most definitely not “fugly”, she was like one of the hottest women I’ve seen in my life lol
