We have gyroscopes in our missile guidance systems that depend on the speed of light to maintain the accuracy of missile flight. It’s new technology, based on a thought experiment from 1974 or so. We’ve spent the last few years replacing all the guidance systems on all the missiles on the 14 Trident Submarines. Great effort, great coordination, great cost. Each guidance system is about a million dollars.
If the speed of light changes, we miss. There’s just no way around this.
I am sure if there was ANY sign that the speed of light was changing, the effort to put the old guidance systems back in the fleet would be impressive and outrageous. Otherwise, we’d just have thermonuclear weapons that we couldn’t accurately aim… And everyone with a physics lab would know it.

So any evidence of this is something they’ll pretend is valid, without actually producing objective evidence in a format that actual scientists will verify.
