Do not be deceived: Leftism is an enigma. We need a theorem that explains not one or two aspects of Leftism, but all their traits.

The theory must explain, first, the honest decency of the modern liberals combined with their astonishing indifference, nay, hostility to facts, common sense, and evidence; second, it must explain their high self-esteem (or, to be blunt, their pathological narcissism) combined not merely with an utter lack of accomplishment, but with their utter devotion to destructiveness, a yearning to ruin everything they touch; third, it must explain their sanctimoniousness combined with their applause, praise, support, and tireless efforts to spread all perversions (especially sexual), moral decay, vulgarity, and every form of desecration; fourth, their pretense of intellectual superiority combined with their notorious mental fecklessness; fifth, it must explain both their violence and their pacifism; sixth, the theory must explain why they hate the very things they should love most; seventh, the theory must explain why they are incapable of comprehending an honest disagreement or any honorable foe.

Because self deception provokes guilt and humiliation, the self esteem of the Leftist is continually uncertain. Because it is uncertain, it must be uplifted. Each one is a Judas, who has betrayed all he holds dear. The only reason why he does not hang himself from the nearest redbud tree is because he adopts the numbing hypocrisy of the Pharisee.

There is no greater high than to fly on the drug of smug moral superiority. You may look down your nose at all fashion of men greater than you in every other way, but if they are evil and you are righteous, the savory odor of your righteousness in your own nostrils is finer than myrrh. Faith based discrimination is actually bigotry in the purest form, since it utterly rejects everything about the person, body, soul and mind. Faith is the man. The Left cannot see both sides of any issue. They cannot (or dare not) treat any rival viewpoints with respect, not even the respect needed to address or refute them. This alleviates the Left from the burden of actually meeting a burden of proof, indeed, of actually making any argument at all. They just ask opposing viewpoints to shut up.

The great selling point of the Left, the great promise of PC, is that all issues are orthodox and settled, and the great debate of the human condition, all the mysteries of life, no longer are open to discussion. The matter is closed. Talk must stop. Correct thinking is true; incorrect thinking is heresy. You must shut up. You must shut up. You must shut up.

And the burden of human reasoning, the torment of the paradoxes of life, the need for learning, education, or curiosity is done away with. Everything the faithful need know can be printed on a bumper sticker, and chanted as a mantra or a mob-slogan at a rally.

It would be an insult to religion to call this a religion. Real religions take their theology seriously, and debate hairsplitting nuances of phrase over centuries to arrive at precise truth. Cults are not serious. Cult chant slogans. Leftism is a cult.

The closest thing the agnostic world-view can produce to a Satan is either a dictator (oddly reminiscent of agnostic himself) a Republican, or a Southerner. Other than that, they can only portray villains who manifest physical dangers, such as ax murderers and serial killers. Because of their philosophy, people who pose real dangers, such as Islamic terrorists, cannot be portrayed at all, but only people who post no danger in real life but instead produce benefits necessary to life and civilization, such as industrialists, merchants, soldiers, priests, mothers who love their children.

Other magnificent villains of the Christian imagination, creatures such as Don Juan or Faustus, cannot be produced by the agnostic imagination. When there is no white field on which the black wolf is outlined, there is nothing for the moral imagination to see.

If your view of the universe includes as its only moral principle to indulge in vacuous, vain, vulgar or perverse pleasures, and if gluttony and lust define your highest ambition of what you call good, and the only evil in your view of the universe is whatever prudence or authority hinders your boring orgy of self-indulgence, and your only foeman is he whose hand hold you back from suicide, then you can imagine only one villain, a father figure or Pharisee, and he can be guilty of only one crime, hypocrisy, the sin of claiming an authority to which he has no right.

Your villain cannot be craven, or intemperate, or unchaste, or foolish with foolish arrogance, since these are the qualities of your hero. (Of course, real hedonist and nihilist authors rarely portray such protagonists as their philosophy would demand: they merely borrow concepts and standards from chivalric Christian ideals or Homeric pagan ideals, employing them out of context, and with perhaps less than perfect artistic integrity.)

So we cannot leave the fantasy world to the clumsy hands of the agnostics and skeptics. By and large, they can write fair to middling satires of fantasy, but they cannot write classics of fantasy. For something greater than satire, we need Christians like Tolkien or pagans like Howard.

So the Christian writer who decides to put a good witch like Glinda or Hermione or Samantha Stevens or Willow Rosenberg in his story runs the risk that some impressionable schoolgirl out in the crumbling wilderness of the modern world will decide that the path to self-respect and self-actualization is to don a pointy hat and take up her wand, go to an abortion mill, and sacrifice a baby girl to Moloch. One never knows, O Christian writer, whether the last story that schoolgirl read before she read yours was THE GOLDEN COMPASS or INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE or BLINDSIGHT, or some other work firmly in the camp and flying the black banners of the Culture of Death.

How is shifting your burdens to your woman not crass exploitation?

The philosophy of the Left, which you seem to be supporting in this case, is not just evil, it is illogical.

That philosophy is illogical because you are required by your faith to criticize men who protect and keep their women, while at the same time keeping a woman of your own, but due to circumstances beyond your control. You have, in effect, made your ethics subservient to an external economic condition. Hypocrisy is now something that can merely happen to you, not something you select.

It is evil because it discourages love, romance, and marriage, and encourages mutual mistrust and mutual exploitation between men and women.

It discourages love because it makes the roles proper to true lovers impossible. No husband wants his beloved wife to be independent of him — as well want your soul or your beating heart to be independent of your body. But your philosophy adds selfishness and pride to the mix. By your theory man and woman must each be too proud to be completely devoted to each other. You can only devote to another the dregs in the cup of love left after your self-love has drunk its fill. One dare not love nor depend completely on another, because self-protection and self-esteem must be jealously guarded. Unfortunately, it is merely a fact of reality, something no human can change, that pride and agape are mutually exclusive.

Leftism is all about tearing down civilization (particularly Western Christian civilization – the highest form), and not about any of the other crap they like to pretend they’re about. To that end, they’ll use whatever tools are most effective, and will come up with less evil-sounding rationalizations for their actions afterwards.

Hence, they’re in favor of using the state to destroy gender roles and glorify the sodomy because they wish to tear down the family and do away with familial love, because those things form the backbone of civilization and are the greatest obstacle to absolute to peoples’ absolute loyalty to the state, and hence to further destruction of civilization by the state.

The idea that they do these things out of dedication to the dignity and well-being of women and individuals with same-sex attraction is just their after-the-fact excuse to justify it.

Hence, there’s no inconsistency in their actions when they support Muslim jihadists. There’s nothing inconsistent about attacking civilization by denigrating and tearing down families, while simultaneously attacking civilization by promoting savages who would terrorize it with mass murder and who hate the human rights upon which it is founded.

There’s an inconsistency in their *stated excuses* to be sure. It is indeed inconsistent to claim that women and homosexuals are victims who need to be protected and given special promotion to make things “equal,” and also that woman-and-gay-hating Muslims are victims who need to be protected and promoted to make things right.

But that just means that the lies they tell contradict each other, not that their *real* motives and reasons are inconsistent. And since the justifications they give for their actions are merely a smokescreen, you can’t shame their consciences by pointing out how they have betrayed the “principles” they merely pretended to have. They are, in fact, VERY consistent in tearing down civilization and lying about it.

Leftists’ behavior only makes sense when you come to realize that the entire ideology boils down to hatred of truth and resentment of reality.

Fifth Wave feminism likewise holds that unnatural sexual acts, hereafter to be known by the euphemism, “The Sin of Clinton,” are degrading and insulting to women, on the grounds that the female womb is desecrated and insulted if a male thrusts his male member into any other orifice aside from the life-giving womb: to equate the sacred mystery of femininity with the mere physical sensation of penis gratification is the same as to demean women to the status of sexual toys: it is a mortal insult.

Fifth Wave feminism holds that sterilizing women, even temporarily, and even at their own consent and insistence, is the deepest possible degradation to femininity imaginable. It makes the female not female. It reduces the all-powerful mystery of maternity to none effect; it reduces the role of women from wives and mothers and queens of their households to mere adjuncts and playthings of powerful and indifferent men, or boys who can commit to nothing. It make the price of sex cheap. It makes women cheap. My own theory is that the human heart was designed by God to seek God and serve Him, and that, when for whatever reason, we find we cannot do this, we turn to substitutes. Environmentalism has several of the properties God has: Mother Nature is sublime and beautiful, as is God; she demands sacrifice, in this case, the abolition of industrial civilization, the death of babies in the womb and the artificial sterility of women via contraception; she offers the faithful a crusade, a noble venture against an absolute and diabolic evil, in this case, the selfish polluters from that Captain Planet cartoon or Rich Uncle Pennybags from the Parker Brother’s MONOPOLY game; her crusade offers a greater thing than oneself to which to suborn one’s selfish impulses for the greater good, which is perhaps the second strongest impulse in the human frame (the strongest being the sexual impulse); the sacrifices demanded by the Green Goddess are purely symbolic, such as taking time to recycle glass and plastic, which, economically speaking, creates more waste and pollution than it cures, but one can feel pure as a Pharisee merely by strict adherence to these meaningless ritual forms.

And on and on. To conservatives, conservation is at best a technical problem, or a political one: which laws will keep as much of the wilderness in a condition convenient for human use in an economically prudent fashion, as balanced against other needs? To the Liberal, it is a religious dogma, as meaningless as the two minute hate against Goldstein in Orwell. People who actually use the wilderness, and have a vested interest in conservation, such Boy Scouts and Hunters and such, are the very groups most hated by the Liberals.

There can be no rational dialog between these groups.

To give you are reference point to understand my passionate interest in the topic of Christian apologetics, I was an atheist for 35 years, and not an apathetic atheist, but an ardent, passionate, vituperative and proselytizing atheist. I convinced members of my family to stop attending church, and convinced college friends of mine at school to depart from their religious beliefs. I was good at what I did.

Then, not long ago, I began to loose my faith in atheism. As a model of the universe, a model that left out the supernatural dimension of things did not have the explanatory power needed to serve as a model. Too much was left unexplained; too much was unaccounted-for. To quell the growing and lurking suspicion that there could be something wrong with my perfectly logical model, I decided on an experiment: I prayed to the non-existent God and double-dog-dared him to show himself to me, or else, if he did not show, I was relieved from any effort to pursue any further inquiry into his existence.

Before three days passed, I had a heart attack, was dying, and the prayer of someone who claims to have the power to heal through prayer, healed me through prayer. The attacked stopped within a moment of the prayer. This was something my model could not account for. Going to the hospital to see what the attack had been (at the time, I thought it was pleurisy) the doctors announced that I had five clogged arteries and required major surgery. The holy spirit came into my body, and I felt it almost like a physical sensation. Instead of being frightened or even annoyed by the hospital stay, it was one of the most joyous and pleasant times of my life, ever. I was visited by the Virgin Mary, who spoke to me, and by Jesus Christ, who frighted the crap out of me, and my God Almighty, who was beautiful beyond words. Christ said that God does not judge people, but that he, Christ, would be my judge, for the authority to judge man has been given to him.

At that point, I was sure this was an hallucination or a dream, because we all know that Christians believe in a judgmental God, who condemns the wicked. I should mention I was not on any painkillers or any medication which might cloud the judgment or induce hallucination. I was oriented as to time, place and person. I was aware of the nature and character of my acts. I talked this over with my wife in the car after we were driving back from the hospital.

After I was released from the hospital, about a weak later, I had another ecstatic experience, and was sent on something like a spiritual journey outside of time and viewed reality from the point of view of eternity, and was the told the solution to an old philosophical conundrum concerning the problem of determinism versus the freedom of the will, as well as the nature of Biblical prophecy. Again, there were no drugs, no bumps on the head, no other evidence of hallucination or madness.

So I decided to start reading the Bible. In a book of the Bible I had not read before (atheist do not normally pore through the Bible, after all) I came across a passage I had never read and never heard any Christian ever make reference to in my hearing. The passage is from John 5:22 “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son.”
This is almost word for word what Christ said to me.

I do not understand the question. A homosexual couple living chastely is not a homosexual couple, because then they are not performing homosexual acts. Homosexuals are not a race or subspecies of man. They are men who indulge in a certain vice, like alcoholics, or like men who have sex with their sisters.

An unmarried pair of unrelated roommate cannot adopt a child in any state in the union of which I am aware. Anyone can identify anyone else as having their power of attorney for health care decisions. I am not sure what financial benefits you mean: there is no point in giving the tax breaks given a married couple to a pair of unrelated roommates.

In any case, I was once firmly in the pro-gay camp, and in the pro-anything camp, provided two (or more) adults consented: they should be left alone to do their business and they would leave others alone. One of the things that drove me out of that camp was that when the Commonwealth of Massachusetts offered to institute Civil Unions, which would have all the legal benefits of marriage, the highest Court of Massachusetts told the legislature that anything less than calling the Civil Unions marriage would be illegal and unconstitutional. And the Leftwing activists back this position. I heard not a single dissenting voice from that side of the argument.

The implication was clear. The pervertarians want the perversion to be given the honors and applause the a healthy society awards to the sacrament of marriage, and the mere fact that a homosexual pair cannot, in any real sense, have sex, copulate, reproduce, form a family, form a sexual dyad, or be anything more than a kinky mockery or take-off of real marriage is brushed away by a mental act of thought-censorship worthy of Orwell.

Even to bring up the topic of the biological impossibility to homosexuals forming the heterosexual dyad needed for marriage is greeting with screams loud enough to block out any further rational thought. This boycott against Card is part of that mechanism of screaming.

The homosexuals I know personally do not give a Tinker’s Damn about marriage. Nearly everyone behind this movement is a heterosexual, usually happily married, but one who thinks it is wrong for perversion to be discriminated against. They want to encourage and applaud sexual perversion because and only because it is perverse. They think this serves justice and creates peace and wellbeing. They are not perverts themselves, but they are pervertarians.

The pervertarians do not simply want to be left alone, to live and let live. They want society to pretend that perversion is normal, even though their five senses tell them that it is not. So they must block out what their senses tell them with a legal bit of make-believe.

Anyone, like a caterer or a wedding cake decorator or a wedding photographer or a Catholic Church who does not want to play along with the mockery (and I mean that in both senses of the word) of marriage must be punished soundly, so that no one will dare bring to the awareness of the poor victims a sexual dysfunction that they are pretending something will make them happy which only leads to misery.

And so every Leftist believes, and tells each other they all believe, that there is no difference between chastity and perversion, no difference between male and female, no difference between sane sexual drive and neurotic sexual drives, no difference between health and addiction, no difference between sanity and insanity, no difference between right and wrong.

This is the core of nihilism, which is the belief that there are no ultimate truths, no objective truths. The belief is that by eliminating all differences between right and wrong, sane and insane, chaste and perverse, male and female, all conflict will cease and utopia will bloom.

The Christian view of man is profoundly mature, and, based on two thousand years or more of experience and wisdom, is balanced and proportionate, nuanced and pragmatic, idealistic where it needs to be even to the point of extravagance, silent where no consensus has emerged nor revelation revealed, and proven again and again to work.

The modern view, springing from Nietzsche and Darwin, Freud and Marx, put an end to the common acceptance of man as sacred or unique, much as Copernicus had put an end to the heliocentric theory. Man was no longer the center and cynosure of the cosmos. God was dead; man was a naked ape; virtue was unhealthy self-repression; philosophy was the ideological superstructure of selfish class interests. There was no cosmos, no order, merely an abyss filled with the particles of Lucretius falling like snow, without divinity nor humanity nor virtue nor thought. My stepsister’s father was homosexual who abandoned her at the age of seven to go live with his homosexual lover, a worthless boy. Never once in my hearing did I hear any criticism of him for this decision. I saw not the least hint of disapproval or discrimination or revulsion. No one called him a pervert, even though he surely knew his sex drive was misaligned, and drove him where he did not want to go.

He committed suicide.

I am not a mind reader, and I do not know what is in his heart, but I suspect that his pursuit of a lifestyle all the lying-ass jerks on the Left kept telling him was a good and worthy lifestyle was what killed him.

Let me be clear: I say people like you kept telling him that it was society’s fault that he was unhappy, because everyone hated him. People like you kept telling him if he just tried a little harder to follower his sexually abnormal desires, the desires would become normal, and satisfy him with happiness.

People like you lied and lied and lied, and so people like you killed him.

And for what? So you could play a little game of moral superiority with yourself, and tell yourself that your inability to distinguish between male and female, right and wrong, healthy and sickness, life and death, was a sign of your broadmindedness.

You boast that you cannot see the difference. You cannot discriminate. You cannot make judgments. You cannot face facts. You cannot think.

Some boast. You should be ashamed.

Without the support of the media, the partisans and activists and academics would have no public support, and their power would collapse.

The newsmen of this day are vermin, dangerous beasts, parasites and maggots. You support the sexual deviants because you correctly see that any hindrance, even so much as a polite word in opposition, to the prodigious indulgence of sexual vice which forms the backbone of your — I cannot call it a philosophy — your phallus cult would show your own vices in a true light.

Not even nature, not even reality, can be allowed to form a barrier to your almighty phallus that you bow and serve and any cruel or vile or unnatural impulse you seek to indulge, or see others indulge. Your only enemy is temperance.

You correctly see that if men stuffing their members into the smelly rectums of other men is even so much as frowned upon, that your own member-stuffing into whatever harlots or trollops you seek to conquer and exploit would be condemned.

Your enemy is chastity, virginity, romance, beauty.

But you dare not admit this.

And so you lie, and so you take up the banner of intolerance, injustice, indecency, with the zeal of the witch-hunter. In this case, the witches are not accused of selling their souls to the devil, but failing to do so.

You think you will never pay for your lies and hypocrisies to that Power which gave you power of speech. You are sadly mistaken.

Maybe lack of self-esteem IS these women’s main problem. I think they sell themselves short here. Heck not only do women sin but, looking at the list, they are a major cause of men’s sins. Where would internet porn be without women? Would men be as inclined to Pride without women to show off for? Would they be as inclined to anger without wives to provoke them? Or lust without teens and twenty-somethings bouncing around in tank tops and short shorts? I think there is a special place in hell reserved for women who act like they are all innocent while at the same time contracting out to men to have their sinning done for them.

As my newly graduated from high school daughter once counseled her younger brother, “Remember, Stephen, money may be the root of all evil but girls are the stems and leaves.”

Giving the vote to women in 1920, and children in the 1971, has transformed the vote from something that a man did with the understanding of his responsibility, to a form of “personal expression” or communication with the cool crowd.

Ann Barnhardt once made on her blog a strong case against women’s suffrage (her blog posts aren’t searchable or linkable, so you’d have to email her for it). One of the points she made was that when it was one man, one vote, it was really “one family, one vote”. Back then it was normal to be more-or-less an adult by age 21, and typically a voter was thinking about how his vote would affect the future for his family. A major reason the Democrats supported women’s suffrage was to reduce the power of families. With men usually voting for the intellectual reasons of the conservative and women usually voting for the emotional appeals of the liberal, families canceled each other out and an enormous amount of political power was transferred to the young, single, and stupid. The 26th amendment just made this worse.

Perhaps it is silly to be talking about suffrage two days after our republic has had its final election, but this is food for thought when we re-build new civilization(s) out of the rubble. Men (adult men) (who are married to women) (and are fathers) have a duty (not an unfair “privilege”) to take the lead in our families and in the nation.

The sought-after equality is gone, because the inequality is now enshrined as a matter of law, namely, sexual harassment law.

If women could compete equally with men in affairs of business, there would be no need of such laws: but the masculine psychology (which is as predatory and lusty as it was in the days when Achilles and Agamemnon quarreled over who should possess the slave-girl Chrysies) makes civilized behavior with women impossible: until and unless the rules and customs of civilization, the boundaries and sanctuaries evolved over centuries, are allow to check the reckless impulses.

Atheism is a faith, undeterred by any evidence no matter how obvious, that you are smarter than men much smarter than you.

You being to act as if you are the one fully evolved human person on the Planet of Apes.

And this pride, like the first drink of hard liquor or the first sniff of cocaine, becomes habit forming. It is pleasant only at first. Then it takes over your thinking, and becomes a constant companion and a constant burden, and an endless, dragging weariness. Human souls are not actually built for pride, any more than our bodies are build for alcohol or cocaine.

I wish there were a way to convince my atheist friends to be Christian for only a day, or an hour, so that they would see what a relief it was to lay down the towering iron burden of arrogance.

The pseudo-morality of the Left is a direct response to the moral challenge created by Christianity. The Christian message of redemption and inner peace is enormously powerful when it can be expressed clearly. The purpose of pseudo-morality is to create noise to cover up that powerful message:

“They talk about love but they hate gay people! We are so tolerant that we can’t even see a difference between random acts of sodomy and marital intimacy.”

“They talk about freedom but they want to enslave women! We want women to be free to choose no matter the cost to innocents.”

“They talk about joy but they want you to show self control! We want you to do whatever makes you happy, even if it involves your neighbor’s wife.

“They talk about personal responsibility but they are destroying the planet! We want to save the planet by making everyone live like cavemen.”

“They talk about wisdom but they don’t believe in science! We couch everything we say in scientific terms. We’re so smart!”

The Left mimics and distorts Christian morality in order to defeat Christianity. They substitute tolerance for love, self-indulgence for freedom, temporary pleasure for joy, government control for personal responsibility, and sophistry for wisdom.

It is sad how effective this strategy has been.

I also think calling them ‘the left’ is misleading — it is like referring to Republicans as conservatives when obviously they are not — but they have made it their practice to obscure any identification of themselves, so we are left without any word that defines them.

Who and what they really are is ‘the enemy.’ They are the enemy of man and God, of freedom and decency, of Western civilization and Christendom, and the enemies of logic and reality. They are the eternal rebels, but they are the victims of deception as deeply and as sadly as they are the practitioners of deceit.

When I was an atheist, I came to the conclusion that homosexuality was illogical. One need only look at the shape of the sex organs to see that they have an innate purpose to them, and there is no moral code, not even the most liberal or liberatarian, which does not contain a tacit appeal to the innate purposes of things for moral authority. An atheist can rightly conclude that a sex act which does not involve sex is illogical. An atheist can conclude that the nature of reason is such that to defy reason is to defy goodness: that is it morally wrong to be illogical, for the same reason to tell lies is wrong. From this comes the conclusion that homosexual acts, because illogical, are therefore morally wrong.

Much as it will pain my atheist friends to hear this, the role of reason in the Western world was invented by the Greek, upheld by the Romans, and when those Romans became Christians, Reason was merged, melted and mated to the Christian religion so that one cannot accept Christ without excepting reason, and cannot accept Reason without accepting Christ.

Reason without Christ, if elevated to the sum and final Good of Man, leads to inhuman anger like Marx or inhuman selfishness like Ayn Rand, or inhuman angry selfishness like Dawkins, or inhuman inhumanity like Peter Singer.
