Dear, Not-Socrates; We don’t hate the USA, we hate that the USA isn’t living up to it’s professed ideals. We embrace those ideals and letting everyone share and live those ideals.
We see the USA as, ideally, a nation of Immigrants and their descendant that embraces the ideals of The Enlightenment. A land of freedom, equality and opportunity for all. A land that is a refuge for the refugees fleeing persecution can come and start over in relative safety. A land where there is unity in diversity… where different people from different cultures, faiths, backgrounds, politics, etc. can somehow co-exist in relative peace without “holy wars” breaking out every week.
We of the Left embrace “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and what TVTropes calls “Type 1 Eagleland”. You, however, embrace Type 2 in the worst way.
We’re aware of the evil, the genocide, the imperialism, the slavery, the hypocrisy, etc. and want to turn away from that and be the free, open, humanitarian, diverse Democratic Republic we were meant to be. By acknowledging our shortcomings and darker parts of our history, we can learn from it, change and do better. A true good entity admits when it’s been wrong and repents.
Our history, even our foundations, has been infused with bigotry and genocide but it doesn’t have to be who we are as we move forward.
Your idea of what “America” is is not what it professes. You want a white ethnostate that’s a weird amalgamation of “Leave It To Beaver” and Gilead.
Finally; The Founders… while they would appear Conservative in many ways by today’s standards… were actually ultra-Progressive in their day. They were more in line with Voltaire instead of Cromwell. They were Deists, Agnostics, Unitarians and nominal Mainline Christians and they wanted a secular nation where all religions and non-religion could be practiced.
