Honestly, letting women vote in this country wasn't one of the best ideas. Females vote with emotion and overwhelmingly support Democratic feel-good policies that take away our ACTUAL rights. I'd rather lose my "right" to vote than lose my right to defend myself with a firearm!

As a firearms owner I find this sad and absurd spiel of illogic quite confusing.
I’m not sure I want the OP to have access to firearms.

Nobody “let” women vote. Women fought and died for the right to vote and for other rights as well.

Women often vote with the thought of what’s best for the FAMILY. (Some) men vote only for what’s best for themselves, like you show here.

Wait; Kaitlin? You’re a girl? You’d rather lose the right to vote, and thereby probably also your right to own property, than lose your right to ask your husband to buy a firearm for you, and ask him for the right to use that firearm? I doubt you’d be the first woman thrown into an insane asylum for wanting to use a gun.

Oh, you didn’t know that “the right of the people” was just for men? Well, “the people” had a right to vote, and you didn’t want women counted in that, did you, darling?

These ladies have NEVER known what life was really like for women before feminism…or rather…they have a very romanticized version in mind where all old-timey hubbies and fathers were nice, caring, hard-working men who loved, cherished and never abused their wives and kids like “Pa Ingalls” (as played by Michael Landon) or Ward Cleaver (but with more Bible and corporal punishment).

They live under the delusion that abusive male spouses and dads are only that way due to being provoked or possessed by devils and that if wives were submissive enough, they would be like Cleaver or TV-Ingalls. The idea that guys abuse, beat, torment, rape, etc. for fun and because they are bullies escapes them. They’re so lost in their “Just World” fallacy that they stopped thinking years ago!

Bad things happen to good people through no fault of their own! Even THE BIBLE STATES THAT! The Bible rejects the “Just World” Fallacy!

Whereas men voting for Republicans who stoke their emotions of mistrust and grievance, that’s all right.

Boring.

This “argument” has been posted so many times it’s lost all impact.

Because your gun makes you feel safe, which is rooted in an emotional response to your own irrational paranoia which the lobby uses to play you like a cheap kazoo.

But it’s really funny that the idea of not having a “shut up I have the power” option that allows you to completely bypass rational discussion and any need to justify your position is the real fear that makes you want to reach for that gun and keep women from that ballot because you already know you’re not operating on logic at all. It’s fear, arrogance, and pure social posturing for its own sake. And the reason you had a right to bear arms was to facilitate the defense of the state, not to turn those guns on your elected representatives as you ludicrously convince yourself. You think it gives you greater power than the vote, a “shut up I have the power” option over the collective voices and reasoning of the rest of the country. That’s laughable even before you consider what would actually happen if you tried it.

You might be interested to know that in my country, 2nd in the world to have the female vote, plenty of MEN also voted for the 1990s Liberal government, which got rid of a lot of high-powered rifles after the Port Arthur Massacre, then remained in power another 11 years. Mind you, that was the only good thing he did, but that's life.

On top of that; These gun-freaks never consider that the U.S. Government has one of the largest, state of the art, heavily-funded, high-tech militaries on Earth! A bunch of yokels with assault rifles would be no match for millions of trained soldiers, tanks, bombs, assault weapons, DRONES, aircraft carriers, fighter jets, etc.

That’s because gun-fetishists seem to think that action movies are representative of real life, and that owning a gun makes them the main character in their very own “Die Hard” sequel.
Interesting how you never see an actual combat veteran amongst their ranks… only what the US calls “chickenhawks.”
