Various NBA players #conspiracy sports.yahoo.com

Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving was the first NBA player to reveal his flat-Earth beliefs, summarized as such: “Can you really think of us rotating around the sun, and all planets align, rotating in specific dates, being perpendicular with what’s going on with these ‘planets’ and stuff like this?”

Soon afterwards, Denver Nuggets wing Wilson Chandler and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green endorsed Irving’s flat-Earth theory, with the latter explaining away NASA’s photos of the planet from space by suggesting everyone can manipulate doctored photos of the globe on their phones.

The NBA storyline became so outrageous commissioner Adam Silver had to address it in his annual state-of-the-league address at the All-Star Game, clarifying, “I believe the world is round,” and suggesting Irving was making some broader social commentary about fake news in this country.

Which, no he wasn’t. Irving doubled down on his flat-Earth theory this past week, before detailing his lucid dreaming skills and informing us how an ex-teammate came to him in a dream to say goodbye.

These are all very real things that NBA players have said.

This is one wild theme to the 2016-17 NBA season, and Shaq just made it wilder when asked about Irving’s flat-Earth theory on his podcast. This was his response, through a series of interruptions:

“It’s true. The Earth is flat. The Earth is flat. Yes, it is. Listen, there are three ways to manipulate the mind — what you read, what you see and what you hear. In school, first thing they teach us is, ‘Oh, Columbus discovered America,’ but when he got there, there were some fair-skinned people with the long hair smoking on the peace pipes. So, what does that tell you? Columbus didn’t discover America. So, listen, I drive from coast to coast, and this s*** is flat to me. I’m just saying. I drive from Florida to California all the time, and it’s flat to me. I do not go up and down at a 360-degree angle, and all that stuff about gravity, have you looked outside Atlanta lately and seen all these buildings? You mean to tell me that China is under us? China is under us? It’s not. The world is flat.”

[On Ian Thrope coming out as gay]

The only ones who place any importance on these periodic public outings seem to be gays. It has become tiresome and almost passé to people not involved in your personal affairs and lifestyle. If your truly proud of being gay and feel it's perfectly normal why do you feel you have to convince everyone else? Since when does pride in oneself have to be proven or approved by others? Like it or not it seems that your the intolerant ones. Your agenda is to force the majority of your fellow citizens to think just like you and to just put up with your insolence and bullying. Do you really think that by mocking straight people and traditional institutions such as marriage, the military and competitive sports that you'll be more accepted? You may want to rethink your strategy as it appears to have many similarities and tactics of another group of bullies who without question do not accept you. That group being Muslim extremists.

Why do gays have to be so in your face? I would think it inappropriate for a straight couple to lip lock on such a public stage also. I do not agree with the gay issue but I don't care what they do as long as I am not expected to agree or forced to e my have my children taught that it is the norm. I have as much right to disagree with that lifestyle as they do to pursue it. Please, just don't subject me to the PDA from either gay or straight. It should be kept to either a peek on the lips or in the privacy of your home or a more appropriate place. Let parents teach their kids the values they feel are right and moral.

Tebow didn't get a chance in NY because Rex Ryan is a religion hating atheist. His lack of belief has made him bias against Tebow. He was reported as saying he didn't want to help Tebow use the NY "platform" to share his message of faith and hard work. Attacking Christians is popular these days....This is why people are attacking Tebow.

Pat Robertson #fundie sports.yahoo.com

If Pat Robertson's vision of theological payback comes true, Peyton Manning will be injured this season as retribution for the Denver Broncos getting rid of Tim Tebow.

The televangelist was speaking recently on "The 700 Club," which is apparently still on television. He recited Tebow's accolades from the 2011 season and wondered whether the Broncos were tempting fate by leaving him off their 2012 ark.

"And you just ask yourself," Robertson said, "OK, so Peyton Manning was a tremendous MVP quarterback, but he's been injured. If that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right."

This just shows everyone what a classless loser this monkey is. Like the saying goes,"You can take the monkey out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the monkey." Kudos for Kimmie for destroying both those ugly monkeys. Now, women's tennis is once again gorilla-free, just like what it was always meant to be.

first of all god is in control of everything even something as simple as a football game because he cares about his people. so if he cares about his people then he cares about the super bowl and kurt warner. maybe if we had more people like kurt then the world may not be in the shape its in. so i am proud that kurt has the courage to talk about the lord and how he (GOD) has meant so much in his life. i believe that people trying to take god out of not only sports but in all aspects of life has caused GOD to take a step back and allow things like 9/11 to happen so i think that god should be at the forefront of the super bowl. GOD BLESS!!!
