Second, in 2000, there were twice as many non-Western Christians as Western Christians. Christianity is seeing rapid growth outside the Western World. And evangelical/pentecostal/biblical Christianity is growing in Western secular countries like the UK, France, Germany and NZ. Third, the global market share of atheists/agnostics has dropped post 1970 (fall of the Soviet Union, etc.). Leading authorities like Pew Research, demographic scholars, etc. indicate that desecularization will not only occur in the world as a whole in the 21st century, but will happen in the Western World as well. Already, religious immigrants are pouring into the leading cities in the Western World. On top of this, religious fundamentalism is not only expected to grow in the world as a whole according to demographic scholars, but in the Western nations as well (Christian/Muslim fundamentalism).
