Stealing, lying, cheating and having affairs aren't ok in the cases where they hurt others. Sex before marriage doesn't hurt anyone. Self-control isn't part of the equation at all, we don't excuse harmful behaviors because "they couldn't resist".

My brother’s a pastor and while he “kept himself for marriage,” he told me that now he has no expectation whatsoever that anyone else do so and simply assumes that any couple that asks him to marry them are already sleeping together. He said it would be weirder if they weren’t, really, and that it doesn’t figure into his thought process, preaching, or counseling. I’ve also known conservative pastors who thought that sex itself counts as marriage in God’s eyes, so it doesn’t really matter if it is before or after the vows are exchanged, only that the couple is faithful to one another.
Sex before marriage helps ensure that the couple is compatible in that regard. That avoids the difficulty of a couple discovering on the wedding night that one has preferences the other can’t or won’t accommodate: he wants the lights on, she wants them off; she wants oral, he doesn’t; they both want to be on top. If they’re going to insist on being virgin on the wedding night, it at least should be discussed. It’s no different than discussing politics, religion, whether they want children, or one is a vegetarian. Differences won’t necessarily ruin a marriage, but it’s better going into it knowing, instead of finding out after the ceremony.

Sex outside marriage hurts nobody (except maybe at first, lol). Just as long as it’s a consensual arrangement between the couple involved, your religion has no place in their bedroom.

Also we don’t know if Mary was 12-14. I been doing some research and found out that Jewish girls in ancient times married around 12-18 with some sources saying 12-20. Ancient Jewish girls in Israel married far later then their Jewish counterpart in Babylon. Jewish men in ancient Israel married around 30 to a woman 10-15 years younger, so a woman around 15-20. Mary could have been 18-20. She may have been betrothal around 12-15, but that doesn’t she was 12-15 when she conceived. For all we know God, Joseph and their family could have cause the betrothal to last for several years.

Jewish girls could married at 12. However that doesn’t prove that most married around 12-14 (and more likely 12-18). Well at least not the Jewish girls living in ancient Israel/Palestine. Most of them married around 15-20 (I hope she was like 18-20) to a man who is 30.(see source from my previous comment above). And we can’t really call someone a pedo when Mary’s age isn’t known and base on guesses. Yes educate guesses, but still guesses. Not to mention according to Christian belief it wasn’t done in a sexual manner, but it was done in a supernatural way.
And while I’m at it. Since that you mention the Holy Spirit. There’s this thing how early Christians and Jews believe that the Holy Spirit is female. John said himself state that he saw the Holy Spirit coming down in bodily form like a dove. According to the Jewish encyclopedia, dove is smilie for female beauty. Weird since that the Holy Spirit got Mary pregnant. But if it was done with divine powers, I don’t see why one needs to be a dude if they can impregnated someone by snapping their fingers. And why did you call Mary a child when the Bible said she was a woman? I can’t remember the verse, but Jesus called a 12 year old girl a little girl. That shows you in ancient Israel 12 year olds were still seen as little girls. However old Mary was, she seem to understand what was going on. I say she was around 18-19 or 18-20. I don’t know, but Mary doesn’t come off being a kid to me. And I find it hard to believe that an all powerful being didn’t cause the betrothal to last for several years for Mary if she was 12-15 when she was betrothed. I believe he did. God is not a man and neither is the Holy Spirit. Only a man would impregnated a 12-15 year old girl. A an all loving God would have cause the betrothal to last until Mary was 18 or older.

Ps. I find it strange that Mary’s father (or mother) was not a part of this. Girls and women until marriage were under their dad’s authority.
