Nagasaki was the port where Portuguese and Spanish traders were allowed conduct trade during the Waring States period. The chaos of the wars and the opportunities to obtain high quality western arquebuses caused many daimyo to convert to the Roman Catholic Church and Christianity likely had its highest percentage of Japanese adherents in this time. Much of that Christian activity was centered around Nagasaki.
That ended when Toyatomi Hideyoshi came to power and banged Christianity - quite violently . The Tokugawa shogunate took it to the next level implementing a kind of anti-Christian secret police. The Dutch traded in Nagasaki during this time but were explicitly prohibited from converting anyone, in fact a sailor having a bible off of their ship would be cause for severe punishment. When Christianity was re-legalized at the start of the imperial era, underground Christians (many of whom formed a unique syncretic sect called Kakure Kristians) were able to build a cathedral in Nagasaki and dedicated it in honor of the martyrs killed during the period of prohibition of the religion.

If there’s a ‘War on Christians’, the devout Catholic that is Joe Biden didn’t think there was when he watched the same.
Yeah, sure, a then mostly Christian country, using the bomb, because of a handful of Christians elsewhere? Fairy tale indeed, but also propaganda for a false conspiracy theory, apparently for divisive purposes.
