In what world are you living, Zero? One woman dies ever two minutes due to pregnancy and childbirth. How can that be if pregnancy is not “realistically a threat to a woman’s life”? Have you ever been pregnant? A normal and “easy” pregnancy still means morning sickness, shortness of breath, having your bladder and other internal organs kicked by the growing fetus, back-pain from the increasing weight, pelvic girdle pain, acid reflux, kidney-stones, etc.
Yes, women have been pregnant for millions of years, and women have died during childbirth for millions of years. Many of the women who survive are damaged for life in their “nether” regions, some so badly that they become incontinent of both urine and fecal matter. Some suffer from so much pain that they can’t even lift or carry their newborn baby. Many have their stomach muscles parting so much they have a “ditch” from top to bottom of their stomachs.
If giving birth is the ONLY purpose of the female body, is the only purpose of the male body to squirt a table-spoon of semen every once in a while? If so, women’s lives seem infinitely more important than men’s…
Besides, the female body is also designed to provide nutrition to the newborn, and the wider hips makes it easier to carry a small child.
Not everyone has access to all that “current advanced technology”, dingbat.
Google “fistula hospital” or “eclampsia” if you still think the female body excels at giving birth in a very safe manner. Oh, and why not google “endometriosis”, if you think the female body is fine-tuned…
I concur with TheKingOfRhye; Cesarean sections might be one of the oldest forms of surgeries we know of (besides trepanning which is probably the oldest). Sure, the woman seldom if ever survived until modern medicine came about, but at least they managed to save the baby sometimes.
Most abortions are spontaneous abortions, what are usually called “miscarriages”. Somewhere between 50 and 85 percent of all fertilized eggs are believed to be spontaneously aborted, many so early that the woman never knew she was pregnant at all. The female body clearly excels even more in abortions than in child-birth.
