The material the moon is made out of came from the surface layers of the Earth, likely drawn from there using a series of small black holes that were placed in orbit around the planet, they explained. Butler & Knight presented three possibilities as to who was behind this operation:

God could have created the moon. But knowing that the Sun and Earth already existed first, why wouldn't this superior being have created the moon at the same time?
Alien beings, highly advanced in technology, could have spotted our planet as a likely place for seeding life, and left their calling card (an obviously artificial moon).
Human time travelers created the moon at some stage in the future, realizing that this needed to be done to incubate humanity in the past.

They believe that the time traveler explanation is the most valid. Humans would have the highest degree of interest in carrying out such a monumental task, said Butler, and time travel appears to be increasingly a real possibility, added Knight.

Also to you explanations:

First: Yeah goddidit is never a great argument especially since there is no god (at least as far as we can tell)

Second: So again alien could have done a lot of things but why would they do that instead of, you know, create a home for their own species instead of creating a new species who could become an enemy.

Third: Ok this is the most stupid. If humans can only come into existence when the moon is there (actually not untrue since the existence of humans is quite unlikely under any different circumstances) than how did humans come into existence and then decided that the best way to make it better for us would not be to give us a teaching about morality and technology but instead a moon which could hamper the whole plan in the first place

How so? The only thing I could think of is that its and the Sun’s apparent size being approximately the same, which was used for the first calculation thereof.

Apparently, they arrived at this result by playing around with numbers until they arrived at “a consistent sequence of integer numbers that they can apply to every major aspect of the Moon” (how vague). Also, some other false premises, such as the Moon impossibly having no core (even though the Moon does have a core and the existence of coreless planets is considered plausible - although I would not be surprised that they mean hollow rather than being all-mantle).

The Moon has three orders of magnitudes more mass than the Earth’s crust. Also, according to recent findings, the Earth and the Moon have identical isotopes, suggesting that the Giant Impact was a direct hit and proto-Earth and Theia were throughoutly mixed.

Actually, the Moon is only about fifty million years younger than the Solar system, squarely within a primordial time of the system.

Because the Moon was the creation of the time travellers all along. It’s a causal loop. They had to create the Moon so humanity could evolve, travel back in time and create the Moon so humanity can evolve…

Also, the impression I get is that they don’t deny that the Moon predates life on Earth, let alone the evolution of humanity, answering both why the time travellers did not teach humanity morals and why the aliens did not colonise Earth.

Some of the comments above are bordering on the absurd.
There is no good theory of how the Moon was formed, as they all have major problems that are insurmountable. For those who are interested in the mainstream’s best guesses (which is exactly what they are) please see below:

The supposed ‘prevailing’ theory is also known as the ‘Big Whack’ hypothesis (although personally I think to call this idea a ‘hypothesis’ is stretching the word beyond breaking point) and it’s biggest problem is the Angular Momentum is all wrong, along with the near circular, tidally locked orbit - so much so that recently a second impact had to be hypothesised in order to create the orbit we now see. The odds against that are literally astronomical. Far too often these days we are seeing impacts being given as the only ‘explanation’ and it seems to me that lazy so-called ‘experts’ have been allowed to get away with that tired ‘explanation’ so often it is now the first one they go to.
We are supposed to believe a Mars sized object just happened to hit at just the right speed & angle to knock a great chunk off the Earth, and at just the right moment a second impactor - coming in the opposite direction - just happened to also hit at just the right speed & angle to impart the required angular momentum and additionally magically correct the trajectory of the supposed chunk knocked off the Earth to put the new body - The Moon - into it’s current tidally locked orbit? Yeah. Sure. I’m convinced. NOT!

The ‘Big Whack’ is simply a guess - it is neither an actual theory (you will notice if you read through some of the referenced threads that modelling the ‘Big Whack’ does not work so it is immediately discredited as a ‘thought experiment with computer graphics’ when modelling is accepted as better than observations when the Mainstream see it coming down on the side they are promoting. You cannot have this both ways - the same people who say that the modelling done that shows the Big Whack is flawed beyond salvation and ‘thought experiments with computer graphics’ - really? Finally why has everyone focussed on the one loony idea in the book - Time Travellers? It is almost as if that was added simply in order for the book to be easily discredited, but why? The book talks about things that are provable and moreover easily demonstrable as well. The Megalithic Yard is real - and seems to have been in use back in the Neolithic period as well as being the origin of both the Imperial system of measurement as well as the Metric inasmuch as both are based on Planetary Geometry. This smacks of a taught system. Every ancient civilization tells you they were taught - the Egyptians, the Sumerians, the Aztec, the Inca - all TAUGHT their at the time seriously advanced knowledge.
Not by aliens either (although they certainly exist) but by the shattered remnants of the Global civilization that was wiped out 12,000 years ago.
