Also, for the cops in the case you’re mentioning, all I can say is WHAT A DICK MOVE! What the hell was up with those cops? Same here, much of my ancestry can trace itself to Ellis Island in the turn of the 20th century. Most of my Great Grandparents came from southern Italy / Sicily. Only the one branch that isn’t (the British & German one) could be the one here longer.

Also, the longer a family and its line lives in the “New Country”, the less it’s tied to the original homeland due to marrying other families of other national ancestries and even ethnicities and races. I have Jews in my otherwise mostly Christian / Gentile family, my dad’s engaged to a Filipino woman!

While I do take pride in my Italian heritage, over time, it’ll be mostly meaningless. The family will just be “AMERICAN”.

Yup, there was even a famous police shooting where that actually happened, caught on a phone camera and everything… yet I think the cop still “walked” because the jury was either really bigoted or really stupid.

I also think cops kept on “walking” because defense lawyers have a knack for spinning something to make the officer in the right and many don’t want to believe that the police, a profession they hold in high regard akin to EMTs and Firefighters, would be full of fashy bigoted goons. Plus, the SCOTUS set the burden of proof bar ludicrously high.

Here’s a neat tidbit of trivia; Did you know that Buffalo Bill Cody wasn’t named “Bill” as in “William” but “Bill” as in “beak”? Look at Buffalo Bill’s nose! His nickname can be paraphrased as “Buffalo Beak Cody”.

Since bison don’t have beaks and “beak” sounds insulting, they went with “Bill” (as in a ‘duck’s bill’) which is also the same as “William - Bill”.

Neat, huh? That also explains the magnificent mustache, to de-emphasize the schnozz.

The sad thing is that, as cool and pro-freedom as Satanists come across as, most of them tend to be Libertarians and Right-Leaning types who get their ethics from “Ragnar Redbeard”.

The Satanic Temple seems to be the only Satanist organization that’s unabashedly Progressive and humanist. I wish there were more spiritual / occult Satanist groups like that, who see Satan as a guy rebelling against The Demiurge’s authoritarian wingnuttery.

Semi off-topic; I tend to differentiate HaSatan (The Accuser, a good guy who works for Deity or HaShem) from Satan (The Adversary, a bad guy who's against Deity and goodness in all forms).

I also learned that Satan doesn’t rule Hell, the scary guy presiding over Hell is actually Abaddon / Apollyon. Perhaps HaSatan and Abaddon can be merged into one guy.

I differentiate Devils (pure evil) from Daemons (chaotic good, neutral, morally grey to evil), too. HaSatan and Abaddon are Daemons working for HaShem. Daemons are basically darker versions of Angels.
