Welcome to my review of:
"James Bond 007: Satanic Syndicate, as written by QAnon and illustrated by the OP's grandfather master spy".
The movie starts by introducing us to the plot's main villain - in a twist on the usual Bond formula, he happens to be Bond's own boss(!) and a member of the secret evil Alcoholics Anonymous(?) cult. Further exposition elaborates on this, revealing that the whole department (besides our hero) consists of crooked spies and, worse yet, even some politicians! And they're leftists!
Then, the plot's resident Bond Girl is introduced - and in yet another twist on the classic formula, said Bond Girl happens to be an aged male ex-"diplomat" who serves as both mentor and co-hero to everyone's favourite martini drinker.
Unlike its predecessors, "Satanic Syndicate" puts its' main focus on more ordinary spywork as Bond and his new acquaintance try to bring the whole multinational syndicate of leaders and politics down from within - well-written exchanges with masterful acting are all abound.
What the film is unfortunately lacking is a solid conclusion - while the main plot goes down like a good drink (shaken, not stirred), the cliffhanger at the end is rather clumsily implemented and rumor has it that a sequel that could resolve the open threads may never come to fruition.
A solid film overall despite many rough edges and departures from series traditions, "Satanic Syndicate" is worth seeing for all those who prefer political intrigue over action scenes or witty one-liners. 87/100.
