For context: Alois Hudal was an Austrian bishop who sympathised with Fascist regimes and Nazism, spoke about international Jewish conspiracies and wrote The Foundations of National Socialism in which he praised Hitler, to whom he sent a copy.
In this book, he advocated leaving politics to the NSDAP while the Church would be left with education of youth. Afterwards, he blamed Nazi anti-Christians such as Rosenberg with preventing his book from peing widespread in Germany.
His open support for Nazism froze his clerical career, especially after Mit brennender Sorge.
You see, the various ratlines established after WW2 to help Nazis to escape to Latin America and elsewhere? Well, Hudal ran one of these, helping former Nazis and Ustasha to flee. Among those he helped are Mengele, Brunner and Eichmann. Hudal later wrote that these men fought against Communism and that he had to save these “so-called ‘war criminals’.”
This is the kind of men Wood praises. It shows that she’s not merely a traditionalist but a full-fledged Fascist.
