Science has discovered DNA, has discovered transitional fossils, has discovered an old planet, that life on it started 4+b years ago. And it has discovered germs, studied viruses, ways to adapt the immune systems of living bodies against them even.

Enyart was a Young Earth Creationist and a vaccine and COVID denier, among other controversies. He died of COVID when a safe and effective vaccine was available that would likely have saved his life, but he refused it. He was instrumental in the corruption of healthcare in Colorado. There certainly were other preventable deaths and serious diseases due to his falsehoods and deceptive activism.

Yet he also wanted to promote his propaganda websites on Wikipedia to supposedly "make it healthier and more robust". The irony.

To "combat materialism", he also claimed that Wikipedia was "not physical", because supposedly information and communications technologies don't rely on physics, it must all be magic inside (praise the almighty photon)... And of course human language, including mathematics, were also supposedly supernatural, so were human thoughts.

For quite some time now, the US Constitution has been “unconstitutional” because it doesn’t match what an imaginary far-right version of the Founders would have written if they had existed. This predated MAGA, but it became less of a fringe view once MAGA got a hold of it.

The Supreme Court could *maybe* creatively reinterpret the birthright citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment… but it’s hard to imagine how they could, and then they’d also have to justify overturning United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898).

Imagine the screaming that would have ensued if they’d overturned the 2nd.

Even if the original writers of the 14th amendment meant something else, the wording is clear. This happens from time to time, a misplaced comma or error in copying or even a misunderstanding by the people writing the law means something other then intended is made into law. The law as written is the law until changed.
It’s also pretty clear this is what they meant. A broad inclusion of people as US citizens rather then being picky. A case can be made that we should be a little more picky as the speed of modern travel makes it easy to visit the US late in pregnancy. If that is what you want to do then create an update to the 14th amendment and start getting states lined up.
