While it is true that the appearance of the defendant can subconsciously influence a court, let’s employ a little Occam’s Razor: what’s a more likely explanation for the defendant in the second case getting off scot-free, his appearance, or the fact that he’s a cop? We’ve seen fewer conventionally-attractive defendants get lighter sentences than policemen. Hell, it’s rare for a crooked cop’s crimes to even go to trial. So I say it’s his being a policeman, not his “Chad” status, that got him off.

Wrong. Rape is abuse, and if you remain neutral towards abuse, you have chosen to side with the abuser. It doesn’t stop the abuser, and it doesn’t help the victim, so it’s ostensibly no different from approving of the abuse.

The only benefit of war in the West would be giving the armchair generals a first-hand demonstration of why we sissy hippy libs view war as a bad thing. War wouldn’t just be prime-time entertainment for them anymore. It would be their own neighborhoods blasted into rubble, not some middle-eastern town they can’t even be bothered to pronounce correctly. It would be their friends and family members dying in the crossfire, not strangers they could just assume were terrorists. And they would have to deal with the aftermath, the loss of infrastructure and rebuilding that could take decades. Even if their side won, they lose.
