The rebels are Republicans now. If you want to be a rebel, you want to be punk rock. You're want to like buck the system, you're conservative now.

yeah… rebels alright… the same sort of rebels the US had to deal with back during the civil war 160 odd years ago… IE a bunch of reactionaries desperately trying to keep power and prevent change that they hate, in otherwords, the same sort of rebels I and a lot of other folks do not want to associate or align ourselves with.
Nope, if you are conservative, you want to keep things as they were. It is in the name. Now, what happened is that, now, conservatives do not just want to keep things as they are, they want to return to an older form of society. The issue is that said society was oppressive for a lot of people, but they feel that their loss of control trumps that oppression. To them, losing power is the same as being oppressed.

My first thought was this person was dumb enough to be a gues on Joe Rogan. THEN i saw the name.
Totally checks out.
“If you want to be a rebel, you want to be punk rock.”
No, Joe, Conservatives still don’t want punk rock. It’s not what they listened to growing up, because of the hair and they can’t listen to now because of their knees.
THey barely tolerate Kid Rock for his politics, but they don’t play his music in the truck on the drive to the rally.
“ You're want to like buck the system, you're conservative now.”
No, Joe, you want to impose your own system, the one where white men are supreme. It’s not rebellion, it’s nostalsgia.
It's funny how ‘punk’ is good when it pushes for the things you like, but if the GOP grifts another election, it'll be the liberals who are then the punks, and that'll be bad, right Joe?
Didn't this asshole used to make a living convincing people to eat tripe and jam their heads into aquariums full or spiders?

It’s not just returning society to an older form, they want to return society to what they imagine the older form was. In reality they would mostly be poor whites oppressed by rich whites in that older society also. They might get to look down on black people but they wouldn’t gain any real status, power or wealth. Many would be worse off, with the removal of working standards laws, minimum wage and such they would be working in worse conditions for less money.
John Lydon now owns properties in California.
Is that being ‘rebellious’ for that frontman of the Sex Pistols…?!
I thought that the ‘Rebels’ were those who were fighting against the British a couple of centuries or so ago…?!
Confused?
