When it comes to the Bible, we need to understand that it is primarily a book of history, spiritual, and moral matters. It’s God’s history book to us. In a way, we could say it’s God’s textbook of historical science. However, the Bible also deals with geology, biology, astronomy, and so on. And when it deals with these topics, we can trust it as it’s God’s Word. And unlike “science” textbooks in public schools, it never changes.

What we can do is use observational science to see if experiments and observations in the present confirm the history God reveals in geology, biology, archaeology, etc. And the Bible’s history is confirmed over and over again as we’ve shown in many articles on our websites, in our magazines, in presentations, and in books, etc.

Because the historical science (the “earthly things”) in the Bible is true, the moral and spiritual teachings based in that history are true. Christianity is based on real history, the history God recorded for us in his Word—the Bible. Evolution and millions of years are false history.

No, it does not. Its mythology touches these topics in passing, but it never discusses them at any length (unless we count kosher law as nutrition science).

1. It has. Even if we ignore all the evidence that certain books have been edited very heavily and the clear theological evolution over time, it is anthology that was written (…and compiled, multiple times, with controversies…) over the course of many centuries - this is not even denied by the Bible, seeing as several books are first-person letters by authors living at a certain time and making reference to older writings, and Christian tradition explicitly distinguishing the “Old” and the “New Testament”.
2. That is not a strength. Science is to learn from our collective mistakes, while Fundamentalism is all about doubling down and suppressing anyone who points them out. Errare humanum est, sed in errore perseverare diabolicum.

No. Not at all. It is very much possible to be completely correct about the facts of a matter - which the Bible is not! - and yet to be completely wrong in the conclusions or analogies drawn from it. Especially considering how little attention the Bible pays to anything other than one-sided Israelite historical propaganda, social control and, to a lesser degree, Jesus, leaving plenty of room for lies of omission.

And it is wrong about everything.

The age of the universe, the age of the Earth, the Flood, Egypt's use of Hebrews as slaves, the number Pi, just to name a few.

I have to ask, is there any scientific details that the Bible gets right? Because, offhand, I can't think of one.

Although I believe this phrase was originally used ironically, it’s literally true in this case: That’s not a bug, that’s a feature! Ugh…I was going to say something about how even someone like Ken Ham shouldn’t expect or hope for science textbooks to never change to reflect advancements in knowledge….but he probably does think just that, doesn’t he? I mean, I can’t think of examples off the top of my head right now, but I’m guessing there’s probably more than a few things that I was taught in school science classes that we know to be wrong today. That would be even more so for Mr. Ham himself, now that I think about it, seeing as he’s just about a generation older than me.

But if you can NOT trust the morality of the Bible, you cannot trust the rest of it.
The Bible teaches that if you free a slave, you still get to own his wife and kids. This is fucked up. Owning someone is wrong by modern morality, owning someone because you owned their parents, also immoral, by modern Christain standards.
And don’t pretend ‘slavery was different’ back then, if the guy did not want to leave his family, you are directed to punch an awl through his ear and keep him as a slave forever. THis is not how voluntary servants are treated.
So, THAT’S wrong.
The biology that says striped sticks make striped goats, that’s an experiment you can perform yourself. It’s not how biology works.
Two strikes.
There’s no reason to think the authors got it better for spirituality.

I lot of the Christian fundamentalists are attracted to certainty. They don’t want to deal with uncertainty or changing systems. For them the illusion of it being static for all time is a feature.

In the Tamuli books by David Eddings, they’re trying to manipulate their enemies into a position those enemies are most vulnerable. They do this by, well, lying. Problem is, you can’t just tell your enemy a lie and expect them to believe it. Well, one of the more criminally oriented characters has a solution, and presents a recipe for telling lies.

1. Tell them one thing that is true, and they already know.
2. Tell them another thing which is true they don’t know, but can verify.
3. Tell them the lie you want them to believe.

And then, they swallow the whole thing.

Of course it does. You're using a particular translation because some of your doctrinal tenets rely on specific formulations that don't exist in non Olde Englische translations. Reinterpretations and apologetics traditions also keep changing to entertain a god of the gaps and misrepresent knowledge and the discoveries of science that fundamentalist creationists find inconvenient. If we go back far enough, some stories like Noah's flood myth are clearly adapted older tradition. You claim yourself that Genesis includes knowledge when it is obvious that it was completely alien to the original authors. So you're misrepresenting specific verses as somehow being scientific. Which is untenable but serves your purposes, to isolate, indoctrinate and exploit the ignorant. Your victims built your castle.

Science is not your "Science" straw man, needed to promote a false equivalence between actual knowledge through systematic discovery and ideological claims.
