The facts say that the entire medical basis for anti-depressants is a thoroughly debunked myth and millions of people were drugged based on that myth

Demonstration that Walsh doesn’t understand medical testing. Medicine is tested to make sure it works, not that it conform to theory about how. To test medicine you take a large sample of people who are sick and give them the proposed medicine and see how many improved (with a lot of procedure to prevent bias). If the medicine works questions of how and why are important but secondary.
The facts say that depression is in many cases caused by deviations in brain chemistry, so all the sunshine and fresh air in the world isn’t going to keep you from wanting to die. On the other hand, taking medication that adjusts your brain chemistry back to the way it’s supposed to be does nicely.
I’m on medication for depression and anxiety. I constantly feel like someone is standing behind me telling me in excruciating detail why everything I’m thinking of doing is stupid and will fail and that everybody around me is quietly judging me.
That medication makes that invisible figure feel like they’re much further away and just mumbling indistinctly. That’s a fact.
And here’s another fact: Matt Walsh is not a smart person. He doesn’t know medicine, he doesn’t know psychology, and he doesn’t know when to shut the hell up. His “children’s book” Johnny the Walrus is a dreadful insult to the intelligence of children, so much so the only people who think it makes sense are J.K. Rowling and Tucker Carlson. Notably neither are children and frankly they both frequently find entertainment in bad things happening to children. At least Rowling could write. Matt has no business doing so especially not for children.
He lied about gender affirming care and spearheaded unconstitutional state bans and was treated as a more credible source than entire medical establishment despite his lack of any credentials. Walsh is a dangerous con man. We can only hope he develops a sense of remorse, repents, and works to undo the harm he has caused.
Claiming that false conspiracy theories mythology are facts, claiming that facts are mythology. Reverse reality disinformation and Big Pharma conspiracy theories for quackery, by a notorious bullshitter. Untreated psychiatric conditions are dangerous for the victim, the people around them as well as society, especially when the medical science to help manage it exists. Before the successes of psychiatry, there existed awful things like psychosurgery but it was also common for victims to face abuse, due to the lack of awareness. Walsh is known to promote the retrogradation of society.
Of course, psychiatry is never perfect, it can be difficult to find the proper medication and adjust it, then the necessary followup is rarely optimal, often causing people to remain longer on medication than necessary. To improve that, more resources are needed in general healthcare, a long standing problem, especially in some countries. Pushing conspiracy theories against it, like this, is part of the problem.
Confused?
