I don’t see those ideas as inherently automatically contradictory. I guess it depends on your definition of “socialism”. If you mean the Soviet Union, sure. If you mean a government that regulates big business and keeps them from being the kind of predatory scammers, toxic waste generators, and slave labor operations that they want to be, I’m all for “socialism”.
Now, what about wanting to change America’s political position from a Representative Constitutional government into an absolute monarchy, which is now the position of the Republican Party in all but name? That’s okay as long as the absolute monarch is a rich bigot who hates everyone you do I take it?
